Like in one of my previous jobs they came up with some bonus system that attempted to calculate your bonus based on what #'s you did regarding new business, contributions to overhead and billable hours, as well as contract billables vs contract ceilings. A system like that, where the criteria was well defined and you could calculate what you would get before you got it, I'd consider that reliable.

Though, at that company those "ratings" were completely arbitrary and you got like some A/B/C/D score based on what the owners decided, so it was pretty much horse manure and a popularity contest.

But I digress...
