Not belittling you at all, but I find it interesting how many people feel this way and find cremation so much worse than having the dead person's mouth sewn shut, blood and bodily fluids pumped out, embalming fluid pumped in, makeup put on, and then buried underground in a sealed box to liquefy and rot.

I think cremation and burials are both respectful practices. There are many types of traditional burial rituals that range from more casual to more formal.

I typically didn't want anybody to do anything that heavy for a funeral, but all and all I grew up thinking that it's not all about me and it's healthy for people to pay their respects if they want to.

I suppose I might want to be cremated or buried in a secret location to avoid any possible desecration (which actually would be good for mourning sake), and if I had any conditions for a funeral, I'd want it to be something that everyone could generally enjoy instead of just how one or two people closest to me wanted it to go down.
