Personally, I think the family really should. I would do it for them if they told me they wanted it down and would take responsibility. *I'm* not going to do it, because #1) I don't know the guy enough to be able to legit say I believed it was an emergency (and am not interested in committing criminal trespass), and #2) I just moved back in here and am not going to break the landlord's door down if this guy's family doesn't want to do it.
