It'sike the old days when everyone at the O would continue for a few weeks afterward at all the GPs. Shame Phil doesn't do it and Kai to some extent as he has only done one and didn't make it to the end

I wonder how taxing it is on the body to maintain that level of condition for a few weeks after the O and try to peak again within such a short time for multiple shows.

the battle with Wolf and Rhoden goes on.. good placings. I'm sure the flight and constant competing taxed the guys big time.

I wonder who's competing next weekend?

I think this rivalry with Dennis this will motivate Shawn to bring something crazy to the stage next year. If Toney Freeman saying "bring it" or whatever to Shawn fueled him for a whole year then I'm sure he didn't take losing to Dennis 3 times in a row lightly

Very taxing indeed but then being s bodybuilder in general is very unhealthy and so those 2-3 weeks post olympia isn't going to do much worse in general.

Some of the best versions of out favourite pros over the years have been displayed not on the O state, but at the post O shows, so although it's taxing, some of them seem to be able to come up with something really good!

This is crazy, I don`t remember ever seeing two separate shows back to back like this. The switching around in the placings is great for the sport & a breath of fresh air. Don`t know how these guys can continue with these shows every week but i`m loving it !

Must be bloody tough on them doing so many consecutive shows. Very impressive to say the least.

I don't know if I could do that, being in contest shape for even 2 weeks was hell on my body, all sorts of **** went wrong.

That's something you'll change your mind about as you grow older. Believe me.

Performance in every day life is far more important than being able to take a selfie that you're happy with 24/7.

I have zero problem eating well above maintenance for my size. I do have a hard time eating conservatively though. My ideal situation is to gain slowly over the next 24 months while staying lean (ish) and compete again in 2016, but right now, that's not really happening. I'm already 23 lbs up on my stage weight and it's only been 3 months.

damn. see i really dislike eating above maintenance. it's been 13 months since my show and i'm 15 lbs above stage weight (would probably be ~20 if my right leg wasn't atrophied so much). I just don't enjoy eating and feel it's a waste of time, but i gotta do it. im still doing a slow reversal, maybe 2 lbs per month at most till may of next year

    All sorts of stuff.

    Nerve issues in my legs.

Tore my hamstring tendon and wasn't able to do anything about it during prep (being in a deficit and having to maintain mass). Hip bursitis was also something that worsened throughout prep. Again, being in a deficit and needing to continue to squat and press to maintain size and strength.

Random numbness of limbs. Eg: sitting on a hard chair or bench causing the legs to become numb below the knees.

Sleep is a joke when you're that lean.

    Constantly hungry.

Not to mention that ALL of your daily thinking is about the show(s) and your body. You worry about getting sick so you're extra nasty to people who come to work with colds, etc.

People experience it in different ways, but I wonder how much of that is due to diet, training and mental state. I did my back in but that was between shows and pretty much accidental. Didn't get any big numbness in limbs, unless you count your ass going numb while sitting because you've got no padding lol.

Training was pretty much warm up good, do 2 heavy sets for 6-8 then move onto the next exercise. Basically If I could do a good weight for 2 sets I was happy and moved onto the next bodypart. It's not like you can build new muscle when dieting anyway (natty)

Sleep was definitely out, lucky to get 3-4 hours in a row before waking up for a piss. But I have breaks in the middle of the day I could nap.

Overall a good experience, spending 5 mins posing in the mirror each morning dry as fuk is good fun

I'm currently in a chronic deficit and stage lean (well, as lean as I feel I can get to this cut) and all that I do is think about food and the next meal. Yeah it's great looking alpha but I'm looking forward to putting on a Few pounds, more for my mental state than anything.

Sammy is your leg still giving you issues? Have you seen a professional?

when was that avi taken? nice pic man

yes . just when i think it's getting better, my knee is killing me every time I walk for some reason and the hammy lost strength this week, like doing 20 lbs hamstring curls feels sooo difficult, like it's gonna tear again. every rep i feel its gonna tear again

plus i don't think i'm getting any growth even tho i started training legs again. beyond frustrating. i finally got insurance so i will go to a doctor, appt probably won't be for another couple weeks tho, but from what I've heard unless I have $5000, I won't be able to afford the treatments that would actually help me.

supposedly i'd be much better off buying certain things online (peptides/hgh) to self inject into myself for healing but i still wanna compete naturally 1 more time.

Thanks man, taken 2 weeks ago at a natty show in Sydney, Australia!

Is this because of the American Health Scheme (or lack there of)? Sounds like it's not healing with time and rest, surgery might be the only answer

from what ppl have been telling me, it's a minor tendon tear that should've been fully healed months ago :/. I never even had bruising when I first got it. I think the stuff that would really help heal it, like PRP, stem cell, or hgh, is not covered by insurance so it's all out of pocket.

i definitely don't think i need surgery, but my athletic trainer says it should have fully healed long ago, and she's never had a case where someone's hamstring didn't heal by 7 months later .

really i think if i just went full blown on drugs i'd have invulnerable tendons

i never had great rehab unfortunately. hosptial rehab was $230 per visit. Now with insurance it's $40. but i gotta plead to my doctor when I go

I think you should probably stop training legs if its that bad. have you had an MRI done? I'll give you the advice of 3 orthos and 2 physiatrists I saw for my shoulder and hip: physical therapy and probably cortisone injections or surgery depending upon the severity. There really isn't much else they could do for you

I had 3 sessions prolotherapy which is basically non-pharmacological shots injected into joints aimed at regenerating and strengthening connective tissue. Each session I probably had a dozen shots and it did absolutely nothing except waste $450 cause its not covered by insurance. $150 per session.

so i got injured late february... took 1 month off just to walk. then tried training and rehab for 3 weeks.. could lift heavy, but absolutely 0 hamstring isolation stuff. no leg growth. quit training.
only did hamstring rehab for another 4.5 months str8. finally got back into gym a few weeks ago, could finally go low weight on hamstring isolation, things were looking up, but as soon as i went back to compound exercises as well (and increasing weight on them) i think the hamstring has gotten weaker :/. still no growth

I've had 2 really bad cheap MRI's which doctors have said they can't see anything. now that i finally have insurance, i will get a good MRI.

damn. see, this is why i don't have much hope in doctors. i am not getting surgery, and i've had ~7 months rehab already. my friend knows a lot about drugs and regenerative healing stuff, and some things doctors can do is localized hgh/stem cell/ platelet rich plasma which have proved to help repair tendons. unfortunately i think all of those cost in the thousands, no insurance. so like i said before, the cheapest option for me is to buy drugs online and self inject but im too pussy for that :// and once i start injecting i'll be ON for like the next 3 decades at least

how'd u go to 5 doctors total? to get differing opinions? did you plead your case? i'm gonna tell my doctor everything.. i love bodybuilding, need to get better, haven't healed yet, interested in prp/hgh/stem cell, poor college student, want to be a sports med doctor just like him, etc.

yeah dude, prolotherapy was one of the things i wanted to get done, but damn... did nothing?! how is prolotherapy done? was it prp? where they get a blood sample, centrifuge it, then reinject you with your own plasma to stimulate healing? where do you live?? I think in the U.S. it's around $800 per shot.
