Pretty much every one of my male family members, every one of my male friends and every one of my male work colleagues is either scrawny, skinny-fat or just plain fat. Why do so few men have the desire to have a good physique nowadays? Surely deep down they want to be sickening? Surely deep down they want to be absolutely pissening?
I'm not trying to hate or take the high horse here... I just can't seem to relate to guys who couldn't give two chits about having a beer belly and no muscle mass. No homo but ever since I was about 12-13 I fantasised about the type of physique I would have when I got older; I always had the idea in my head that men should have muscular physiques.
Do you think most men *do* want a good body but just lack the discipline to achieve it? Or do you think they genuinely don't give a phuck?

Why is 90% of the male population content with having a chitty physique?

People have different goals in life? Some aspire to have great jobs, high salaries, to be a great dad or husband even if it means sacrificing their bodies and health.
An old boss of mine was the size of a house. She told me that the only thing that mattered to her was how many degrees she had and that her job title or salary was going up each year. Physically she was a disgusting pig, but she didn't seem to care.

You aren't falling into the, "I don't have the time/If I didn't have a job I would look like you", trap, are you?
I, and a lot of other miscers, have very ambitious goals in all aspects of life; education wise, career wise, relationship wise and interest/hobby wise. Why does it have to be one or the another? It's not hard to sacrifice an hour or two in the morning or evening whilst keeping on top of all your other priorities in life.

This.
Just like some guys aren't interested in sports but like working on cars and stuff like that. Plus even though I hit up the gym 5 days a week I still like to go out and have a beer while watching a game. I dont let the gym life interfere with my personal life. I dont want to look back 10 years from now and be mad I spent the prime years of my life in the gym and missing out on life."The distance between your dreams and reality is called discipline"

having a good physique is still a luxury. good food and time to spare to go lift are privileges. People see that making gains is not so easy and they give up

Good luck when you are in your late 20's/early 30's trying to crush it in a career. It's not nearly as easy when you are working 12 hours and have no energy to meal prep.
Making gains in real life (money, networking, etc) takes time and energy away from making gains in gym.
You and I need the gym time to keep the foundation strong, but most brahs have football and beer as that foundation.5/3/1

When I was in high school, I was overweight/mildy obese. I had 4.5 gpa and played a chit ton of pc games. Got to college, lost weight, played less games, got worse grades. It's hard to maintain everything. Sometimes you gotta pick and choose. Even if there is enough time in the day, do you have the energy and willpower to do it all? Both of those are things you burn through every day.

they're not content they're just too lazy to make a change.
most people have little to no understanding of nutrition and exercising in general. they think to lose weight they have to eat 800 calories a day and to gain muscle they have to take stuff that must not be namedLast edited by lolhey; 10-03-2014 at 12:25 PM.
