Welcome!
There's a thread for Christians here in the R&P section. They're kind of in the middle of a debate right now, but they'd welcome you with open arms.
We also have an email support group through the thread if you're interested. We try our best to keep up with each other and how we're all doing.

heyo!
I am a christian too! Welcome aboard! I am warning you now though. Don't try to get in a debate about your faith in an inappropriate place on this board. Many people here will take jabs at you simply for ackowledging you are a chirstian.
I argue my faith well and believe with my whole life/heart. But this board tends to be full of very opinionated and outspoken people who have a tendancy show disrespect just as much if not more than they help out. I am a fellow christian I am saying all of this as a warning, not to prevent you form spreading the good news.
The Good an Holy name of Christ has been trampled on this board from co-called christians who come on here and don't know when to turn the other cheek and stir up trouble in the wrong places (people's product logs, etc).
I love you as a brother in Christ, and choose to show that love as well as I can. This is why I am asking you to sheild your heart while surfing this board, because this is a place where faith (christian or not) is looked very badly upon. It is SAD, yes. This is why i warn you not to come into this board vulnerable, but dawning God's Grace an humility.
Eery warnings aside, welcome to the board, there is more info/knowledge on this board than you can shake a stick at!

Hey Dude-THANKS so much for your warning-you have already shown what a true friend & Man of Faith you are! Don't worry-I am not one to go into other posts & try not to getto offended with others. Everybody has a right to their opinion. Also, I try to not judge others, but if asked, will give my advice to them. But I tend not to go looking for trouble on sites like this...
God Bless!!!

My brothers!!
Let's be an encouragement to each other: a band of brothers.
Been suffering a flu the last few days. Got to the gym yesterday a.m. after talking with our Abba and played five games of squash last night. Man, was I sick this morning!! A buddy of mine said working out will "work" the cold out. Don't know about that now!! What a morning!
God is good, though. I'm feeling better now just knowing that you, my brothers, are there, also glorifying God by our earth-bound-heaven-seeking-temples.
Hope I hear from you guys. Sure could use the help here.

Better today
Thanks, gymforlord and jediweed,
Worked some legs this am before work. Still sniffling. Got to the gym later than hoped-but for a good reason. Was prayin' and didn't want to quit.
My chest is my weakess point off all. I know that low and heavy reps = strength (right?). For mass and appearance (oh, the sin of vanity!), I need to work on lower weight and higher reps. Is that right? I'm starting with a basic press but going to incline presses second 'cause the upper pec is weaker than the lower. Any thoughts?
I've added pull overs, but I also read that that's more of a refining, show-case move, and not so much a mass builder. Is that true?
One of these days I'll have to get my pic. posted. Not so smart with tech. as I could be at 44! It's probably a lot easier than I expect.
What's with "jediweed", jediweed? How did you get that name. I noted that you work out with teenagers. I am/was a Big Brother (it's changing now) for a time. What a way to influence the next generation for Christ. Good for you--if that's kinda what you're up to.
I'm convinced that Christian men have more to say to younger guys about Christian masculinity than what the church says and what most of us are saying individually. A lot of boys are growing up getting their definition of what God calls a man from the wrong source.
Blessings on you all,
Dale

What do I mean?
Good question, brother,
In years past, youngsters would be sent to apprentice with master tradesmen or be associated with a knight from whom they would learn skills or move up throught the ranks to be a knight themselves.
With the Industrials revolution, men became less present at home, and now with some social trends, fathers are absent for other reasons: divorce, etc. Many youngsters lack that "training", for lack of a better word, or they get their bonding/role/gender identification from places where the messages they're taking in could be morally questionable if not blantantly non-Christlike.
I guess what I'm saying is this: does the church present a view of Jesus that intices men? Does the body act in the decisivie, yet compassionate; authoritative, yet servant-like; adventurous, yet calm and peaceful manner that, I think, Christ showed while on earth? Do young guys hear sermons which lead them to say, "Ah, so that's how I know myself to be a man! That's what it means to be masculine!" Can young "Timothys" find "Pauls" whom will take them under their wing? I wonder.
There's a great camp that I've been reading about called Christ-in-the Tetons. It's on the web at www.christinthetetons.com (I think) that gives fathers and sons or mentors and youth a week to be wild together and learn what a Biblical definition of masculinity is.
Check it out and let me know what you think.
Is that a bit clearer, brother.
How's your workout going?
Dale

My last name is pronunced "Weed-man" and have had the nicname "weed" all my life as I was tall like a weed. I love Star Wars and so just decided to add the "jedi" before my "weed" nicname and thus was born - jediweed.
I train teen boys in bodybuilding - more to get them interested in something other than what's out on the streets. I don't push the "religious" issue on them - but my gym has inspiriational posters, scriptures quotes on the walls - and my example is there - and many of the boys bring up the issue themselves - in which I, of course, gladly share. It's hard with bodybuilding to stay focused on really why one does it - rather than on the lusting, sexual side of it - and I do help them to see that bodybuilding is a sport just like any other - we just wear a little less than most and to realize how our body is glorious but it is nothing to be worshiped or lusted after. Anyway - we have fun and train hard and learn lots from each other.
Keep it Hard and Strong - "Sickness is just weakness leaving the body!" lol

I have found out that sometimes these flu-like symptoms are your body's way of telling you to slow down and allow your immune system to catch up. I was sick last week for no reason other than being run down. Remember that your body grows during rest, not during training. Get some rest!
