finally getting to post in here after lurking this thread. bit the bullet and grabbed a pint of the LE Haagan Daas Midnight Cookies and Cream. 7.5/10. Good amount of cookies and chocolate swirl in each bite. Base can get a little sweet, but is expected with cookie with a chocolate base, but overall not too bad!

First post, time to pop this cherry. I'll follow up with a fairly long post giving a list of ratings, but for tonight I'll just say that the Talenti Pumpkin Pie Gelato is daium good; it does indeed have pieces of pie crust that are quite generous. Better than B&J's Pumpkin Cheesecake which is decent in itself. Next up are Graeter's Pumpkin flavor and Trader Joe's Pumpkin Ice Cream.

Palazzolo's Bananas Foster Gelato
So I decided to roll the dice again with another mix-in free Gelato after my experience with Coolhaus. This brand was on sale and I since I am a banana guy I figured this would be a good purchase. Pure coincidence that it happens to be the same flavor (Bananas Foster) as my first Coolhaus pint.
B-
Base was pretty good. It reminded me quite a bit of the Coolhaus gelato, but unfortunately the strength of the flavor was a bit less potent. The really irritating part? Just look at the pics. The first pic is pretty indicative of maybe 95% of the pint. Mostly banana base with very minimal cinnamon rum swirl. Then, suddenly you hit the bottom and there is a massive pool of the stuff. Now, the swirl is great, and it pairs nicely with the base. The very bottom of this pint is a B+ or maybe an A- grade. My question is: why the hell would you put all of the "swirl" at the bottom of the pint? How does that help?

Interesting. The containers are semi-transparent, so I guess I should check when more shipments come in to see if this is at all standard across the board. Normally I would have done that before purchase numero uno, but I have been fooled by the exterior appearances of ice cream before (seemingly minimal swirl/mix-in content content ends up being a goldmine and vice versa). I have another flavor from these guys in the freezer as well. Seems kind of like a riff on the aforementioned Sunday Breakfast. If I remember right it's vanilla maple gelato with a maple swirl, pancake pieces, and bacon pieces. We'll see how that one turns out. I remember another local guy giving it a "meh" review in the last incarnation of this thread, but if a flavor really appeals to me I always have to see for myself.

~Chocolate Peppermint Crunch~
BJ continues with the usual chocolate base for this one.. however, the peppermint and fudge swirls is what keeps me coming back for more! They're thicker and add a nice texture to the chocolate base. The mint chocolate cookie balls are crunchy and fresh..if you're a fan of peppermint would recommend! B+

Delish’s Cinnamon Bun Blast
The texture of the base is strange but the flavor/mix ins are spot on

http://theicecreaminformant.freeforu...shmallow-smore
Overall this is a very unique and flavorful gelato that should get a look. If you are a S'mores fan you will get a very heavy Graham Cracker base with a good cinnamon like after taste. The chocolate pieces in the gelato are not large in size they resemble the fudge flakes like you would find in a Ben & Jerry's pint which are very mediocre in size but all over the place and in abundant amount. They key feature is the torched marshmallow after a few bites you get full globs of a very soft and gooey marshmallow like it came right off a campfire and melting in your mouth. How they input this into an ice cream without becoming on the harder side and staying in a very gel like and soft like texture is beyond me, but it took the pint over and above expectations. There is no hesitation this is an A Flavor, but for my favorite S'mores I would still rank Wegmans S'mores above it because of the heavy Marshmallow base/swirl, the unique graham cracker base is great, but the mix-ins for the Wegmans pint are heavier (graham Cracker Swirl and larger chocolate chunks which give it the edge. Dairy Queen S'mores Blizzard would rank 3rd overall between those 3 selections and Ben & Jerry's 4th.
