Sup guys,
right now i'm taking whey daily and creatine on workout days and was wondering if the combo creatine plus beta-alanine would be beneficial.
I've did some research and several articles are stating beta-alanine would only be beneficial for exercises lasting 60+ seconds.
Does this mean that supplementing it while following a gym workout routine(8-12 or 15 reps lasting around 40s max or something i'm assuming) would be just a waste of money?
Thanks

I have experienced positive results from beta alanine personally. Less fatigue. I can go harder for longer. YMMV

You'll benefit from BA but only after saturation of 4-6 weeks of approximately 3.2 g taken daily. The tingles will subside after continued use but don't think this means in effective. The paresthesia (tingles / pins & needle feeling) is just a temporary side-effect.

I came across that one but decided to search for more recent studies/articles.
http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/your...a-alanine.html
http://www.strengthandconditioningre.../beta-alanine/
Two articles i stumbled on that conclude: beta alanine will, in most cases, be only beneficial when performing exercises lasting >60 seconds.
But, like i previously said, i'll give it a try in the near future.

I've used bulk Beta Alanine in the past at 6g daily - can't really say I've noticed too much benefit from it but it's cheap so why not give it a shot? Studies show 3.2g to 6.4g daily to reach saturation in the body will benefit you the most. The tingles you feel from it are not increasing performance but just a side effect of Beta Alanine and will go away over time.

this^ the studies ive seen show benefit in long bouts of exercise around 120-240 seconds long. I have tried BA and after doing quite a bit of research i do not supplement with it anymore. Mainly because of its taurine depleting effects. i do supplement with taurine though.

Let me help you answer your own question. When you train, do you do one set and that's it, or are you doing repeated sets? If you do in fact do repeated sets, do you think lactic acid increases during each set and accumulates over time, especially when you are using less rest time between sets? So while BA will not nessarilly help in your fist set, the deeper you get into your your workout and as lactic acid, more accuratly H+ increase and muscle ph decreases, HELL yes BA will benefit you.

There's never been any concrete evidence to cycle it but we do know from the research muscle carnosine levels plateau at the 3-4 month mark, depending on your dosing strategy. I haven't seen them drop off by taking it any longer, so until that evidence comes out, there's no exact reason to cycle on and off of BA. Having said that, there is nothing wrong with going on it for 3-6 months and than take a 2-3 break and repeat.
