I don't keep massive video and music libraries so a 500GB hard drive would be a waste. In that case I would keep Windows 10 because there is no reason to delete it and because you never know if I'll have a reason to use it in the future. It's about keeping the option open when there is really no reason to close that door. Odds are it would never get used.
Edit: I don't lose things because they're backed up so that has no bearing on anything.I'm a sad little man

Its the kernel version that matters, not Microsoft's marketing.
Windows NT = NT4 = v4.0
Windows 2000 = NT5 = v5.0
Windows XP = NT5 = v5.1 (x64 aka Server 2003 made to look like XP, was v5.2)
Windows Server 2003 = NT5 = v5.2
Windows Pista = NT6 = v6.0
Windows 7 = NT6 = v6.1
Windows 8 = NT6 = v6.2
Windows 8.1 = NT6 = v6.3
So when it does get to "Windows 10" it will probably just be v6.4 or something.u wot m1.68179283050742908606225095246644152⁴

Interesting claim as to why they may have skipped the Windows 9 name:

I'd probably set up dual boot with the majority of the hard drive space dedicated to Ubuntu. If you have something you need Windows for (like updating maps on a GPS) then you don't have to set anything else up (emulators, etc). There will come a day when I tire of listening to 80's music. That day is not today.

No real issues with Windows 8. It does pretty much what I need it to do, just a different way of thinking of it. I think they are smart with Windows 10 not doing the touch screen interface for desktops. Unless you are using a tablet, must people will be using a mouse and keyboard.
The only problem I had with 8.1 was it seemed to not play friendly with my wifi. Once I got that figured out, it's been pretty smooth sailing.Burning Fat Cells One Rep At A Time
