you also have the info to track the person down and return it...
I for one would 100% keep the money but would return the wallet... be honest you *******s, you're not a "good" person for returning the cash. Karma doesn't fuken exist anyway.

Nope, I would not keep it, I'd contact 'em and give it back.
However, I may have answered you differently 15 yrs ago when I was a broke, single Dad, raising my son on hot dogs and Mac & cheese, trying to get caught up on rent, and deflecting calls from my car loan guys.

lol at the thieves ITT. I bet you would be all butthurt if it was your $500 that someone stole.
I once found a new iPhone probably worth around $500 on the street in Boston when I was on vacation there. I was returning home later that day so I took the phone with me and waited for the owner to call the phone and give me their address. It was some girl's phone, she dropped it the night before. I mailed it out to her the next day. She sent me a check to cover the cost of the mailing, and she also gave me a Chipotle gift card which I wasn't expecting.

Keep the money and mail the wallet back, 100% srs.
Unless of course the person was very obviously poor or in need of the money based on what I found in the wallet, then I would likely return it as I would feel bad stealing from someone worse off than myself."There is no reason to be alive if you cannot do deadlift!" - J.P.S.

Taking a break from here because life is more important, see you *******s in 6 months. Srs.

Found $400 dollars in a wallet with a license. Walked around the museum I was at for over 20 minutes looking for the guy on the ID, found him and gave him his wallet back. He looked at me like I stole it, counted his money and walked away angry.
I didn't even expect a reward but he could have at least thanked me. This was when I was 16.
