I mistakenly left the car in drive being preoccupied with getting out and not slipping on ice balancing my sons birthday cake. I'm out with the door shut when she sees the car moving forward. She thought it was sliding or something and got in front of it to try and stop it not knowing it was in gear. It hit her then pushed her through the garage door! Pinned her in pretty good. Somehow I managed to get back in and put it in park. Didn't even drop the cake. Oops!

I have a sad story to report.
I was trying to park in my apt lot the other day and my neighbor and his wife were in the car in front of me. he was driving.
he attempted to parallel park while I waited to go around him. tried it twice and then I saw his wife get out and he moved the the passenger seat so she could do it for him.
sad state if affairs it was."To be a warrior is not a simple matter of wishing to be one. It is rather an endless struggle that will go on to the very last moment of our lives. Nobody is born a warrior, in exactly the same way that nobody is born an average man. We make ourselves into one or the other."-- Carlos Castaneda

My wife was an unbelievably good driver. The only person I would trust to drive while I slept when we were on the road. She drove all my 4-speed cars, could pull a stock car on and off the trailer. Even drive a 24' box truck with a 5-speed.
Her sister... among the worst and scary to be a passenger in her car. She drives 40 miles one-way to work every day and holds it at 55 on the LI Expressway. She drives with the seat all the way up almost against the steering wheel and she's one of those who are on and off the gas constantly, almost made me motion sick one time. My sister is probably even worse, a while-knuckle driver even around town. I won't get in the car if she's driving. In space, nobody can smell Uranus....

Parallel parking is piece of piss. If you can't parallel park in the uk you're screwed. Most parking is on street.
I guess the best compliment I've had from a dude (or at least in his head it was) was, him telling me I'm cool I drive like dude.Perfection in mind, perfect body!

I hate trying to back up trailers! Fortunately, I very rarely use mine, only for the occasional pumice run.
ABout 15 years ago I took our elderly neighbor to the metal recycling place, and watched a woman back an 18-wheeler (full size trailer) along a long muddy driveway of two narrow concrete strips. I was in total (gender neutral) awe. I didn't even want to drive on that going forward.Peace: Lift Long and Prosper!

When I did my driving exam back in Europe, it was on a manual gear car and the instructor made me start from up hill. I stalled the engine twice so he said "I should really fail you but I'll give you a last chance" he points at a spot and says "you pass if you can parallel park into that spot". I did and got my license
Now, reversing with a trailer on the other hand is one of the biggest mind fukks EVER. Turn left to go right... turn right to go left...Follow my 2018 competition prep here:
