Probably not going to like the answers I get from this but is 27 too late to change your life around(losing weight, going back to school ect).
I have lost 18 pounds and still going strong! Is it pointless though?

You are in the wrong section.
Here you will get brutally honest answers and you may or may not like what you hear.
If you have to ask if it's too late.... Then yes it is.
The only limitations and restrictions you face are the ones you set up.
Edit: Just saw your other thread in the misc. First if you seriously want help and honest answers, go to the nutrition forum, exercise forum, etc.
I am not sure if you are trolling or you really need help. I will tell you that the Misc sections of this site is not going to help you, if anything it will do the opposite.

You are behind the herd. That means absolutely nothing.
You've had to deal with certain things that maybe some others didn't have to.

People go back to school in their 40's and 50's to change careers. It's common. The average age at most community colleges is mid 30's. The only thing in your way is you. Congrats on the 18 pounds loss. Now you need to get your mind right. 27 is young.

Unless the religions that believe in reincarnation are correct you have exactly one chance. If they are right then I'd say just **** it, have some fun and start over again next time. If the Hindu's are right and you're really bad you might come back as a monkey or something but that might be fun for a few years.
So working under the assumption that reincarnation is not an option then....you really don't have much of a choice. You are where you are and you just have to move from here. I mean you might have missed your chance to play in the NFL but other than that I think you should be good.Gnomefit...ain't for everybody, only the sexy people.

well 27 is probably a bit late for me
in order to do that ,I have to start it 23 years ago, which in my opinion is going to prove difficult for me
Oh you mean you?
in that case no problem at all
if you want to change your life at 27 and you happen to be exactly 27 - then your timing is perfect

If you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.
If you are going to pretend that age is the reason thats preventing you from setting and achieving your goals, then you're screwed.Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal; nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude. – Thomas Jefferson

Do not compare yourself to other people as a static point in time. Be the best you, that you can be, today, not yesterday, not tomorrow, today.
Today is my chest and tricep day. I will be happy if I get 3 sets of 5 at 275 for incline press today. Would ID or someone like him - no - does that matter to me and my progression - not at all.
Other people who are better lifters, more educated, have better jobs - can inspire us if we look at the world positively or make us feel bad about ourselves if we choose to be pessimists.
I choose to be inspired. Make that choice with me.Its not enough!

I've come back to this thread about 4 times because I can't even imagine someone 27 worrying about making changes in their life....you're still a kid.....go live and enjoy.....there's never a time when you can't make changes....
Just look at a clock.....the only reason it exists is so we can measure change.....time is change....go with it...."You got soul and everybody knows that its alright".....Curtis Mayfield........"Eat to be strong weights and reps"....Me....."leave the gun take the cannoli".....Fat Clemenza

Oh good lord. I cant believe the younger generation these days. Get some intestinal fortitude Op. If you slot yourself into thinking its too late, then it will be. You can do whatever you want to do, especially at your age. You just have to decide to do it and do it with a strong mind and unrelenting resolve.
pick it up and put it down

I think losing all my weight is a good first long term goal. The next goal will be to reach my genetic muscular potential in 3-4 years. During that time, I will have to pick a preferably trade oriented path . I don't want to spend 5-6 years obtaining a 4 year degree. No offense to others who have a bachelors. I really don't want to be in school that long. I am looking at more of a 2-4 year commitment TOPS.
A bachelors ,despite being 4 years, WILL take me 5-6 years because I have to work.
