Could you pls advise?
I’m 36 and hope to have ‘the tummy of a fitness model or bodybuilder’, so to speak.
Due to my job and family situation, I found that I can only go to the gym at about 8pm during the weekdays.
Is it alright to do exercise after 8pm?
Thank you

Try it and see if it works for you. I work night shift so I like working out after 8 pm. Although, sometimes I workout in the morning before I go to sleep. So e people can't sleep if they are wound up from a workout.....I don't have much of a problem. Then again , I can drink a 20 oz coffee at 5/6 am and still fall asleep at 9 am lol

You can get a fitness model tummy with zero exercise. Just eat at a deficit.

Why are you asking? You're getting conflicting replies because your question isn't really formed properly - however I'm guessing you're asking it in seriousness and because you've heard people say bizarre things about training. Like never train on an empty/full stomach ... don't feed after midnight ... expose to light...or allow to come near water etc
It's down to the individual as to what time is the best for your body but it's also down to the amount of time available - if you have an hour at any point in the day then that's when you can fit it in.
Certainly for some individuals too close to their sleep time can affect the bodies ability to sleep and also where your eating window is... which will be reflecting how much energy you 'may' have but whatever you do, you would and will get used to regime as we're infinitely adaptable by design... and so really it only applies at the start.
and like Jerryb says, your tummy isn't related to this question.
In a word 'Yes'!

The OP has to be trolling...Right? If for some reason you are not, then I would like to know why you would think that training after 8 would be a problem? I mean, if you are not trolling there has to be some reason that you would ask that question. Well, anyway...I train at 8:00 3-4 days per week, and never noticed much difference than any other time of day, other than you do not want to use any kind of stimulant pre workout drink for evening workouts, or you may have trouble sleeping.

You can workout any time of the day you want...it doesn't matter. The only thing I would suggest is modifying your diet to accommodate working out later in the evening. Carbs are my best friend to power through and keep it intense at 8:00 PM. I've had some great success supplementing with Karbolyn as a intra-workout supplement when I'm in there late after work.

The problem with training in the evening comes down to the science of Carb Consumption
as everyone knows, you have to take in simple carbs with your Proteinz right after training for Insulin Potentiation and to fuel the Anabolic Window. Otherwise your entire workout will be wasted and your body will actually lose muscle
however, as everyone knows, any carbs eaten after 7pm are converted instantly into fat. So you have a dilemma. Either squander your precious protein by not using a fast acting carb to literally force it into the muscles, or take your Whey and Waxy Maize and risk becoming 300lbs of adipose tissue within months.

Dude train whenever you can squeeze it in and when it works for you.
Personally, I can't train at night - I think it's more of a mental thing, but it just doesn't feel right. I'm a very early morning kinda guy (earlier the better - like 4 AM early!).
But different strokes for different folks...
A few tips to getting that tummy:
1. As other posters have said - diet is a big factor. You gotta take in fewer calories than you burn - "calorie deficit." Saying to live by: "Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym."
2. Cardio - lots of cardio.
3. Treat abs like any other muscle group. Use weights, and find a weight that allows you to do 8-12 reps until you reach failure. I hate seeing people in the gym mindlessly doing weightless crunches (just kinda tugging on the back of their head - it does nothing except risk neck injury!).
4. My abs responded very well to drop sets. Hit the ab machine at a weight that allows you to get in 12 reps until failure, then drop the weight by 15% and (without resting) crank out more reps until failure, then drop the weight by 15% and (without resting) crank out another set of reps until failure... Rest... repeat.

Don't worry, serious if its 8PM your time its 7AM somewhere else, the trick is to fool your body that your in a different location and its 7am. For example lets say you live in New York its late a little past 8PM, when you start training you automatically start speaking in a Australian accent, to further fool the body so there is no doubt load up some Men at Work, Big Audio Dynamite, AC/DC, and put pictures of Mel Gibson on your IPod to complete the deception. Now your in for Madz Gainz, don't forget to have a Bicep Curl dominated workout, like 20sets of 10. The Idea is to saturate the Bicep, that the new muscle is pushed into your abdominal region. This works trust me I know this.
