Still more impressed with Branch and I think he deserved that placing.
I like Ramy more, but I'm simply not impressed by his showing. He's big, sure. Well proportioned, sure. But, it's just not as impressive as a completely back to front, head to toe shredded Branch who is freaking old and injured. Ramy just has no excuses for not coming in like a shredded god.
Actually I think Ramy should forget about training those quads any bigger, because those balloons just look out of place and wrecks some of his flow. Get those bad boys peeled instead and he will bust way more ass.Owner of:

I would have had Ramy flipped with. Branch at 6th...if not for the hammy injury, Big Ramy would have likely been top 5 imo.
In all fairness, Branch did bring it in terms of improving from last year and nailing the conditioning but still not enough to place ahead of Big Ramy imo.THE LEVRONE 2016 MR. OLYMPIA COMEBACK

That's true. I don't think anyone will argue that Ramy pretty much dominates from the front. Quads could use more detail, but by god they are huge. Solid mass as-well, great upper body proportions and good detail from the front in general.
However, from that back, he truly was a few weeks out. And that simply cannot be forgiven at this level. Luckily Ramy has so much potential that he could easily lose 5-10kg of muscle along with fat for the sake of conditioning and still be dominating if he comes in shredded.Owner of:

Branch deserved it
Ramy was 3 weeks out from behind and that's unforgivable, while Branch was most shredded on stage.
Yes, yes... I know. This is bodybuilding and branch is torn to pieces, etc. Well, it's also a sport that has an offseason and onseason, and dieting down and coming in shredded has a huge focus in the sport, and it's like Ramy came in right in between offseason and onseason. I can't reward somebody that is THAT soft from behind, over somebody who's quite obviously done his homework and dialed it in perfectly.
I hate Branch but he deserved it this year. Far from a joke.
Ramy needs to lose at least 20lbs if he truly wants to compete with the top guys. If we start rewarding him for his size alone, and his genetic gifts like his structure, etc, then like somebody else said... we might as well just tell them all to show up at 10% in boxershorts and let that be the contest

I'm baffled by such a mentality, this is not a competition where a judge punishes you for not delivering the expectations.
Ramy had enough ground covered in terms of size, structure, proportions and symmetry, to overwhelm Branch.
From the front, Ramy looks fine in terms of conditioning, from the rear, his back is not as dry but it still has a fair amount of detail.
The issue resides in his bottom rear, the glutes/hamstring/calves area.
This is annihilation.
To ignore every single aspect where he dominates and pinpoint Branch's conditioning as the sole reason why he should place above Ramy, is mind boggling.

Roro, from your first set of pictures I have Branch ahead. Ramy looks very very soft.
Conditioning is definitely the primary criteria. And IMO it should be, as its the hardest to master.
From your second set, I have Ramy ahead, he seemed to have dried out alot.
I believe the scorecard accurately reflected this.

Let's agree to disagree then, I simply cannot comprehend how anyone could have Branch ahead of Ramy without overlooking the dominant aspects Ramy covers, it's baffling.
Ok, wait, let's make it pose by pose. (Edit*, wait, let me get some pictures in.)
I'll put who I give the pose to on top of the image.

Kudos to Branch for bringing his physique back from the brink of last year, but despite his advantage in conditioning, to my eyes still Ramy dominated him overall. Agreed though that I wouldn't have Ramy higher than 6th, as Dex and Wolf etc. still outmatched him in the overall combination of factors. A 2009 Branch would have been enough to clearly take this Ramy out, but as I see it Branch should have been even further behind, behind Bonac etc.
