Im on spread timm but ur post made me lol.
I had heath ahead when they first stepped on stage, kais gloss arms and legs but matte chest and abs made him seem way off in terms of conditioning. Phil's midsection was distended and he had no abs. By the end of the night kai was looking full and better conditioned and Phil looked like he was fading badly. Sunday phil looked better than the night before but not by much. It was really close.

The sad truth in bodybuilding... Kai will always be the people's champ while Phil will always be IFBB's champ.. For a second I thought he was palumbo... tsk..

The posing is laughable. I was so mad I missed kai's routine at finals bc of the **** webcast. And even more mad when it came back on and phil was doing his fist pumps after each pose like "FERK EYAR, I GOT THIS!" Wish more people have a classy routine like kai (more artistic) or dorian (just straightforward business). Ronnie is one of the few who can pump up a crowd because of how unbelievable he was. Phil seems to have the confidence, but his narrow bloated physique doesn't do him any justice imo.
I was listening to rx muscle's play by play for a while and I think it was during fred smalls routine (?) they were saying how great of an entertainer and dancer he is lol. I was cringing the whole fuking time.

Not only did I see the stream, I was there in person for prejudging. And not only did I have pretty good seating withe my view just slightly off center, but the arena had really huge screens to watch the show on for people who were far away.
Phil's stomach was bloated, but Kai's was worse. Not only in the side chest, but in the side ab shot he loves to hit so much. Kai, Phil, and Roelly all had guts this year. Kai's was the biggest, but Roelly's was the most out of proportion, imo. Phil's was a bit more out of proportion than Kai's because he's smaller than Kai, I'll give you that. Kai's was sticking way out at times though. And for those who stress the importance of mandatories, Kai's stomach looked worse in the actual poses.Last edited by stealth_swimmer; 09-21-2014 at 09:00 AM.

Sometimes the majority is delusional and bases their decision on emotion more than anything else. That's why California voted down gay marriage, that's why some states have gun control laws, that's why people's rights are being taken away - cus the majority is sometimes wrong. The majority on the forum may love or hate my opinion, but that won't (and shouldn't) stop me from voicing it.
I also find the lack of consistency of some on this forum ironic. If I agree with the judges, I get told I'm just going along with the IFBB. If I disagree with the judges, I get told that I'm just being contrarian. No matter what I say, some people are gonna be butthurt.

I hate this word, but Kai was definitely more "aesthetic" than Phil this year. Especially his front double bicep, it was epic. Tight midsection, peaked arms (biceps AND hanging triceps), flaring lats and quads, it just had flow.
Just because Kai is bigger than Phillip doesn't make Phillip automatically more "aesthetic"

it's not a fukking sport anymore.
it's a goddamn beauty pageant and social contest.
And anyone who thinks Phil has better shape/aesthetics then kai is just a blind idiot. Literally that is the worst argument you could use for yourself. Not one pic from the olympia shows Phil looking more aesthetic or with better shape then Kai...When you stop striving for perfection, you might as well be dead.

This can make a huge difference in how the outcome appears. For some reason even a great stream in high def cannot capture what it is like to see these guys in person. Pictures are even worse for some reason.
I'm not trying to say one way or the other who should or shouldn't have won. The lighting seemed to be horrible for prejudging. The stream was really blurry, too.
After watching the stream, I don't see how Phil won. But I also know that there is more to it than what my experience told me.
Honestly, I'm looking forward to hearing opinions from additional relatively unbiased people that were actually there.___________________________________________________________

It was the worst because at least when Ronnie had questionable gut some years he was like freaky 280+ on stage and still with striations. When a guy is 240 with narrow frame/clavicles and has a gut like a bullfrog it looks 10X worse than someone even like Roelly this year, it just stands out so much. So aesthetically speaking, Phil looked like chit with that alien growing in his belly this year. Kai was more aesthetic, along with conditioned not to mention bigger.
