Barb, do me next!!! I've got half brother, 2 half sisters, 1 step brother and 2 step sisters. Most of my life it was just my mom, myself and step father until I was 13 and he went to prison for 9 years. Am I gonna make it????

You're younger than Galindo, but you're quite mature for your age. If I didn't know, I would have thought you were older. It sounds like you were basically on your own (like an only child) with just your dad (?) since you were 12/13. Did you have to be more self-reliant?

I lived with my mum and step dad. My brother went to live with my dad when he moved out. He's made a lot of mistakes and I learnt from them, probably more than he did. Yeah I was pretty much like an only child from 12/13 but I didn't mind that, I don't need other people to be happy, I actually find it draining being in large groups. I don't like small talk either. To me, communication is usually a means to an end. That's the reason I don't post here often anymore, I know what I need to know about changing my body. Yeah I'm weird but I'm happy so who cares.

there will always be exceptions, and yes everyone is different, but in most cases it goes a certain way. It's like how they say girls mature faster than boys. Doesn't always go that way but for the most part it's true.

Day 2 of "working from home" due to the Apocalypse of snow in the city of buffalo.
Meanwhile I'm like 20 mins away and had sun and dry roads yesterday.
But cold as fuc.
Its starting to snow here now.
Better stock up on rumpleminz and hot chocolate.

Need to put some more wood on the fire.
I want to stay warm in my PJs while I reset passwords for people that are also "working from home".

If it weren't for the conference calls I have to be on I'd probably be drinking. Lol.
At least my laundry is getting done.
I only have a mountain of kids clothes I need to go through and donate.

Im very close with momma bear. She was 100x more strict with my sister but, thats because of her lifestyle methinks

My older sister definitely thought we had it easy and resents my mom slightly because she thinks she likes us better,(me and my bro). She did take care of us.

She doesn’t think things through well enough. She’s a jump and ask questions later kind of person. She definitely had it easier, but no resentment here.

I've a sister 2 years younger. I've 2 half brothers like 15 and 13 years older. I don't talk to the brothers at all.

EDIT: My sister is only 2 years older and was raised with much less of a stern hand than I. But like I was like Barb where she would just annoying me half the stuff she'd say. I'm like how are we related. Once she had her daughter she became a lot more tolerable and we get along pretty darn well now.

Okay, this one’s easy. You became the man of the house at an early age. I bet you had to be tough and grow up real fast . You’re in New York afterall. Perhaps, you wish for a more normal upbringing and had more time to enjoy the sweetness of childhood. Could this explain your obsession with cupcakes and gelato?

My questions were specific to galindo. The others chose to volunteer their own info. There are many things that come into play, i.e. family dynamics and history, culture, environment, age differences, etc. Still, I find the case of younger siblings treated more leniently more common than not.

I think i'm more harsh in those threads than i am here. I'm not a fan of peoplr trying to rationalize why they're fat to give excuses to their binging and the like. Be responsible for yourself. Your body isn't just "happy" being 50lbs overweight and that's why you can't lose.
