    Alrighty then...

I started losing weight by removing most refined Carbs and Sugars from my diet.
That's how I came up with the name.

It basically means that for dinner tonight, I chose to eat my Grilled Chicken Sandwich...

Yes...trying to find maintenance and stay there for a good while. I didn't want to be here with 40 lbs left to go but my body sure did. It's been 3 years since I've started. I've taken a week off here and there and days and meals once in a while but nothing long and I think that's part of my scale jumping. I've also made no progress in the gym for a year....I chalked that up to just trying to preserve muscle on a cut but....I just need to be here a while.

I'm not a patient person my nature, so this is challenging. LOL I'm thinking it will take me a month to find maint. and the scale to stop hopping around. And then I'll stay there for 3 months. My plan. So it looks like I won't be cutting until after holidays maybe.

I hope this thread will still have me, though, as I don't like to venture too far out in other ones...people are mean. Not all, but enough to keep me out. LOL

So today on the agenda is lift (B day ICF) and work 1 house.

Also, my son had to get up at 4 am, which means I did, too. He had is freshman student orientation at UMASS today and it takes 2 1/2 hours to get there and traffic, etc. He drove up with a friend from HS who is also going to be his roommate so that's good. He's so last minute getting ready that he forgot some stuff (pens, nothing big) and I'm trying to do less and less for him...what's he going to do when he's away?? LOL I mean the kid has a full time job, in which they give him his own truck and trailer and mower and equipment and he has his own routes. And a car and insurance and phone that he pays for so he's not an idiot...but sheesh....He still needs help getting out of bed and ready for the day.....oh, wait...so does my husband..............

Ah, yep there is no penalty for missing maintenance by 100 cals though. Patience I never had on the mega cut either.

You probably will have renewed vigor when you start up again. It's like a deload from the gym, just getting all bouncy like tigger day you go back to training full steam. Pounds will probably fly off when the time comes after a good break.

Just keep the YOLOing down to a dull roar!

Have you ever neglected to check the flavor of your protein mix, only to discover that you put fruit punch mix in your 2% milk

Only when ordering, which is why I got like 18lbs of banana flavor protein powder. Which I don't even really like.

look at all these posts in like legit succession! I'm stoked. I thought we were going to have some "discussion" here, but restrain was had.... LOL.

Anyway. I've just been llazy about posting. Rightnow outside it sounds lke a cat is having the time of it's life meowing away. I live exciting life.

Oh! in other news last friday i went golfing for 9 holes. First time. I felt like a real man. lol. Too bad i suck. The good news is, i don't suck as bad as i thought.

Also in soccer i think i finally found the "sweet spot" on my foot to generate the most force with least effort when shooting and long passing. It was a glorious week of soccer, and i wish i couple play more, but my body would make me pay. too bad it took 5 years.

Let's get talking people I'm in a pretty good mood!

    Instead Of Like This:

You're losing weight because that pair of sandwiches has probably around 500 calories, so you're eating a 500 calorie dinner. Going by that you're entire daily intake probably isn't over 1500-2000 if you eat similar meals.

THAT is why you are losing weight, not because you aren't eating carbs.

You make it sound like your one of those tin foil hat anti carb guys that thinks eating low-carb is the only way to lose fat, apologies if you aren't.

Carbs don't make you gain fat, excess calories do. There are benefits to low carb like a protein centered macronutrient profile, satiation, and perhaps better body composition when cutting on VERY LOW calories, but it's not the only way. Again, ignore if you know this.

Personally, I'd only ever do low carb high protein if I was under 1500 calories and my caloric intake couldn't afford carbs (ie. couldn't reach my protein goal if I ate carbs too on 1500 calories)

There's the "discussion" I was talking about! Moore steps up to the plate!

I did not say that my weight loss was caused by me eating fewer Carbs and Sugar.
My weight loss was caused by me eating fewer Calories than I used to, and most of those cut Calories are refined Carbs and Sugars.

I come from an extended family where baked goods are king.
Until I learn to eat it moderately, I choose not to have it.

I was simply answering a question about my user name.
Wasn't trying to make a statement or anything.

I came to this thread because I thought people chill here.
Kind of a cool, refreshing concept, compared to other sections of the forum where people grind each other.
Even the first post asks posters not to ask questions about weight loss.

It appears that I would have to change my user name, or start eating some cream puffs, in order to fit in.
Seems much easier than the spiritual ritual suggested on the previous page.

    I'll think about it

Nawww you don't. You asked for initiation and you got it lol. We respect your decision in how you choose to diet down. Pretty much we just want to make sure you aren't ignorant to the fact that you can have the carbs and sugars if you wanted toand still lose. He did say ignore if you already know this. Don't take it as a personal attack (if you did at all).

    That said,

Lol, I like how Kure basically instigated, sat back to watch it happen, and then steps in to play ambassador.

lol. :P hey, NoCarbs. i've got a family history of diabetes and i really push my luck with the amount of sugar that i consume on a weekly basis.

congrats on losing 88 lbs thus far! some context if it helps - almost everyone on this page was once obese. 50% also come with retractable claws.

i haven't been able to get past this point in abt a year, i think. we'll see what happens this time. i'm trying to stay disciplined for a wedding that's coming up in mid-July. have to wear another sari for it, one that was tailored to fit me years ago.

Simple carbs when taken at a higher amount seem to take two days rather than one day to show up on the scale for me. Maybe thats whats happening to you.
Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.
