Yeah, I will but I'm taking a season out. I want to take a year to focus on my gym work, recovery times from games throw everything out so I want a year with proper lifting and no disruptions.

I learned to climb snow and ice covered mountains yesterday. We got to use crampons, slide down hills, and play with our ice axes. I had so much fun! CSB, you'd be proud of me. I did good! Well, sorta. I need to work on a couple self-arresting positions.

Seems that new year's week was the real party week
bloated up to 220 and feeling good about it. Makes my winter cut more dramatic. Back at work and computer is freezing on me, disallowing a proper workflow for me. This is killing any motivation to do work at all today.

O lawd. They're heeeerrrreeeee. The resolutioners were out in full force at my gym today, my gym is a 24hr place so it uses two automatic doors where you have to input a pin to get in/out. The place was packed when we left and there was a queue of ~10 people waiting in line to get in. Why do people do this?

Thanks guys. I had a really good time. I am putting the hiking boots and snowshoes away for a while though. I need to get back into lifting. I'm restarting ICF tonight. No damage to report from the holiday feasting. I actually lost a couple pounds.

funny, i said i was going to start a weight lifting program come january 1st 2009 in september of 2008. and here we are 6 years later and i'm still lifting.

Some people start on the first as a clean slate, and take the time prior to get everything in order.

her restaurant was understaffed so she cooked our meal and it was really tasty. i finished the last of the leftovers today. very fattening food - lots of cream that i don't usually use in home-cooked meals, but i tried to keep my portions small. om nom. chicken tikka masala.

also, she had the craziest stories. she was seeing a much younger guy who experiences roid rage and posts shirtless selfies on fb. right before New Year's he took off with a car that she had co-signed on. i don't plan to get too close to this woman. too much drama in her social circle.

i wedged this car nice and tight up against this stone wall the night before last. roadside assistance had to come and pull the car away from the wall for me the following day. i would have made the situation worse if i had tried to move the car by myself. (luckily, the car only ended up with an inch-long scratch - where the circle is.) a few nights before that someone's van died in the driveway, blocking me in. the struggle to get to the gym is real, lol.



i'll do some body weight exercises while watching tv.

Literally it's just another day. Sure. You can take anything to it's simplest form. But a day is more than just a 23:56 time period. It's a combination of that time plus the experiences on an individual basis.

I understand what you're trying to say, but its like saying "why eat a variety of foods when you just eat the same thing everyday to get proper macros, since it's all just fuel?" If people use the first of the year as a way to better themselves, why complain at all? Sure a lot of them won't stick, but in that failure knowledge is gained and they'll most likely try again. It may not be their time. I'm pretty sure all of us can say we tried something, gave up on it, then came back to it later and found success. Let the people do what they need to do to if it means them at least attempting at a better lifestyle for them.
