Country music oh no....Nahh I actually like some country music. On another note. I killed it in the gym doing cardio today. I Probably burnt 550 to 600 legitimate calories.

02-13-2015, 10:40 AM #3541Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

Better than OK. Released for good!
Had to go back to see thyroid surgeon last year, follow up. I'm supposed to check throat / lymph nodes anyway and found weird spot. I thought it felt like cartridge. ENT thought same. Follow up sonogram says I'm OK but they want to monitor the 1/2 thyroid I have left because nodules, this happens every time you get a sonogram of your thyroid because everybody has nodules but I have a history of them growing faster. Wait around, get another sonogram, results say I'm good. Thoughts of having another throat surgery just aren't appealing though. Makes you nervous. Although the 2 days of life as "Elvis in the final days" at the hospital after were interesting. Really clearly understand how people get addicted to pain meds.
So back to just annual thyroid/calcium testing with GP. Really great news!
qft, muscle is good, and women don't need to be 13% BF to be fit IMO.
Stuff goes so fast. Buy the 2 pack hyooge bottles at costco and still always out.
3 day so much rest, + gym. Probably some srs BBQ.The most important aspect of weight training; whether for the athlete, bodybuilder, or average person is to better ones health and ability without injury. - Bill Pearl

Good to hear everything is fine! You only have 1/2 thyroid ? You should be obese n stuff with thyroid condishuns
Some pain meds are fun, others are not so fun. Rita tried one of the strong ones I had once and colors n stuff started smearing across the wall.
Agree with the muscle is good, imo women look best at 15-22% bf , depending on muscle mass and how the fat deposits are. And that range is usually within the "healthy and fit" range. Women probably gets way worse hormone crashes than men going low bodyfat. Thinking about how grumpy/angry and irritated I can get at low bodyfat I dread to think how women areMy story going from obese to fit while battling daily chronic headaches:

Just priced @ top specs no extra software @ 3.1K, geebus will have tower comp + tablet for rest of life.
IDK why apple cant remake the old black macbook for students, poverty peeps with 250 flash for $500, oh yeah right because every laptop has to get a new $200+ component marked up $700 so price stays same.

Didn't share this here this week but I fell in Tuesday at work after slipping on ice. Landing on my back and hit the back of my head on the ice. Instant headache, dizziness and nausea. I was off the rest of the week.
Went to the doctor today and got put out of work for minimum of 2 more weeks but right now it's written as until further notice.
At least a grade 1 concussion. Headache has been present since Tuesday.
Injury to the right anterior scalene.
F'ing blows.

Sorry to hear, MrM. My sister got a concussion when she went ice skating, fell, and hit the back of her head too. No neck injury thank goodness, but we noticed the effects for months after, especially the short-term memory lapses. Nothing serious, just much more forgetful than usual. She had the headaches and dizziness for a long time.
Take it easy. The faster you recover, the faster you'll get back out there. Any double vision? Do you need to wear a neck brace?

Thanks guys. I'm truly not upset to be out of work because it's freezing here and my father is our of the country so I'm running his contractor business also. I get to do that meanwhile. I can't work EMS due to lifting and all that. The workers comp and disability actually pays me more than I make now. The part that upsets me is my training. No deadlifts or squats or anything beastly sigh. Forever puny.

I think that's pretty common for most of us lifters/fitness freaks. Be dead sick with the flu, injured or whatever. Feel like your going to die/severe pain and all you can think of is all the workouts you are missing.
Everything sucks even more when you cant get your lifting fix.My story going from obese to fit while battling daily chronic headaches:

Funny you should mention cake-pops. Never seen one in the wild til yesterday when I went into a Starbucks for the first time in a long time (somebody gave me a $50 gift card, so I was compelled even though it's against my religion).

Dood, I am an OG sbux hater, unfortunately now it costs me more to get coffee at 7-11. 2 cups 7-11 $3.80. Or XL cup plus refil @ sbux $3. WTF? Plus I can get whole milk at sbux. Most days I just cold brew tea in the truck though. Or make earl grey from the hot water in the office.
Would blow some of that fity on a salted caramel square. It's like a big soft heath bar.The most important aspect of weight training; whether for the athlete, bodybuilder, or average person is to better ones health and ability without injury. - Bill Pearl

I have three or four 12-16 oz bag-thingies of fancy coffees that people gift me in my fridge. I don't use them unless I have company cause I like Folgers better.
Everybody has those Keurig things now, they suck because A) they don't make the coffee hot enough (I spent some quality time researching and reading instruction manuals to see if I was in the wrong) and B) no Folgers.
Folgers squeezed in a French press with boiling water >>> everything else.

And yes those caramel squares look good. But I also wouldn't mind drowning in a sea of Snickers bars.Way more Xtreme Fitbitter than MissLadyJ or kureransu
