Can someone explain whats going on for the NBC broadcast? I found these 2 articles and the Washington Post website makes it seem like they are showing the entire contest (at least the heavyweights) but the mrolympia website says they are only showing 90 minute highlights on 2 separate days?
It's right there in your sources. They are showing 90 minute highlights on 2 separate days next month.
From the WP article: "NBC Sports is airing the Mr. Olympia international bodybuilding contest in two 90-minute specials, the first on Oct. 18 and the second on Oct. 25."
from the Mr Olympia website: "NBCSN will televise two 90-minute specials around the event, the first on October 18 at 1:30 p.m. ET and the second on October 25 at 5:30 pm ET."
I think that should be sufficiently clear.
I'm going to give the NBC broadcast a skip and just watch it live, tonight and tomorrow on bodybuilding.com's stream.
Look for some old bodybuilding NBC broadcasts from the 1980s on youtube. That's what it will be like. Sort of like when the World Strongest Man competition is on. They edit stuff and add human interest stories. And somehow by sheer magic, it fits into a predetermined time slot.
