lol i remember opening up a bag of bulk tmg about a month ago and thought 'what in the heck is that smell?'...tasted it and it was definitely sweet though. anyways, i took 2 grams of it and gave myself a bad panic attack because i started second guessing if the smell was normal and maybe i'd been poisoned....kinda humorous now. i still havent used it again since that day....500 grams of pure tmg powder sitting in my cupboard probably feeling lonely...maybe i'll add it to my Katana tomorrow and see how it goes.
ive taken tmg through other sources (green mag, white flood reborn, etc) and it's never had that smell so i wasn't expecting it with the pure powder i guess.Alpha beard crew

Sorry to bump my own thread - I received my betaine today (went with LiveLong) and it says 1 gram per day. I've searched and found everything from 1.5 to 3 grams and everything in between as advice to take. So, how much should I take? Do I split the doses or take it all pre-workout?

I believe all the study done that is most referenced on this forum used 2.5g daily, split into 2 doses - mostly because some people have stomach reactions to taking it in a bolus. Though I recall it being stated that the person performing the study said there were likely benefits of going above 2.5g daily, but that has not been studied up until this point.

Yeah it seems to very popular because of that, but if you already take a PWO with nitrates (I finally got my Max Out for example), it's probably not the best idea to mix them. I guess you could time the Betaine away from your PWO but I've heard on training days you want it before you train.
