If you have to discipline a child using physical force, you are one of two things:
1. A byproduct of this done to you, therefore it's all you know so therefore you do it
2. A mongolien incapable of influencing people with words and probably a pretty horrible and sad human being that you have to hit someone to get your point across.
How to Win Friends and Influence People should be required reading for all human beings. You don't have to EVER hit a child to teach them correct or good behavior. If you think otherwise, you are foolish.355 Bench

this is just beyond me... discipline your kids when they act up and youre considered a "child abuser" for fuk sakes... my parents beat me but it was only when it was fuking needed. not because they just felt like it, parenting is becoming a thing of the past now a days. its sad cause the coming generations are gonna grow up with a silver spoon in their mouth

I read in one of the articles that the boy didn't cry, and that's why AP kept at it, thinking he wasn't hurting him.
Also, I haven't read anything on articles or in posts about this, but am I the only one thinking he has rage issues because he's not natty and that's how he had his thank you based god knee surgery turnaround, or at the very least, people may begin to question him about that more now than they did when he miracle healed?

Did aps brother die riding a bike and a shoot out happened? Maybe it channeled his anger into this. Boy will no longer push people but ap took it 5 whips too far. Didn't need a switch...you play in the nfl. A slap will do it.

there is a fine line between abuse and discipline man, I got hit but for me doing all the wrong things and my parents who i love very much, made sure i wasnt gonna be doing those stupid things again with discipline. If u really think this is abuse then i dont even know

I'm sure ap will be out of the nfl, since rice got out for knocking his wife out. I don't see why they should keep him in the nfl in my honest opinions anyway.

I obviously wasnt there and that is kind of the point. They are your parents. Its almost like accusing them of being bad parents if you acknowledge something as abuse. Chances are they never took it too far, chances are they thought they were doing whats best for you. That doesnt validate corporal punishment, it explains it sure, but that doesnt make it right. There is no evidence of it being effective. On the contrary, we pretty much know now that it not only doesnt work, but often has a negative affect. Raising a kid is complicated and so is being a good parent, and of course you can be a great parent while still using outdated methods of discipline. Whats best though isnt to let your ego get in the way and think the way YOU do things is best, but rather to look at the evidence of what really is best.
A lot of people in here are saying it would be better if the child was 11 and not 4, but the opposite is really true. An 11 year old should have the emotional development to be reasoned with without resorting to corporal punishment, you can articulate and explain things to an 11 year old, and you can punish them in ways that have a lasting affect without ever raising your hand. A 4 year old seeks instant gratification, and as such it isnt so clear as to if spanking and such works, but it defiantly is better when the child is younger, not older.“The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.”

Came in expecting an overwhelming "no" response.
Good job misc. Nice to see that in the ridiculous beliefs held on this website, switching your children until they bleed all over their legs, buttocks, and nuts isn't supported.Sleep Faster

AP jr. was still bleeding from open wounds a week later. Tells police he's scared to tell them what happened because his father is going to punch him in the face... again. Took it a little too far he says... lol at everyone thinking it's OK to "discipline" children and then wonder why they become adults who serial kill dogs, beat women, assault people, etc... as adults. If only they just acted like you wanted them too, right? Strong retard.
