    300 lbs Squat 5x5 @ 175 lbs

I'm 5'8'' and weigh 175 lbs. Current avi is a bit outdated, as that was when I weighed about 165 lbs. About a month ago I started doing the stronglifts 5x5 program and my squat shot up to 300 lbs. Is this considered a good amount of weight for my height and size? I've never tried to see what my 1 rep max would be, but I did knock out 300 lbs 5 reps for 5 sets during my last session. Wondering if I could get your guys' insight on this. I think it's pretty damn good but I honestly don't know who or what to compare it to. Thanks for any insight you guys can provide.

it's good, assuming you're going to parallel

I would much rather increase ROM than do half assed squats

Good call, and I'm glad you brought that up. It's actually one of my biggest pet peeves when people don't squat properly. I go below parallel. My a** is below my knees on every squat. It bugs the shít out of me when I see people not going down far enough.

This is extremely helpful. Thank you for that. I'll have to find out for certainty what my 1 rep max is then.

I do. I don't half a** anything in gym. I'm not a time waster, so when I'm there, I do it right.

Thanks for the encouraging words. I feel like I might be starting to reach a plateau. I've increased my calorie consumption from 3,000 to 3,200 now to try to prevent plateauing, but I'm wondering if I should start to mix up my workouts more at this point. Any advice there? The Stronglifts 5x5 workout advises against doing other workouts while on this program, but I do believe in listening to my body, and if I feel like I can incorporate additional workouts, maybe I should. Besides increasing my calories, what else would you suggest for busting through any potential plateaus and to keep my squat numbers rising?

So basically de-load? I think I remember reading to decrease the weight by 10% if that happens.

Ok so then could you clarify what you mean by reset? I'm always open to learn more.
