Sup. Snapped my barbell in half at the gym. Now i'm in the market for a new barbell. It's mostly for deadlifting. Yes, I know the texas deadlift bar is the best but I want a bar from rogue. Anyone know anything about rogue barbells that could give recommendations?? Also are any of there barbells like a texas deadlift bar?

I just bought a Buddy Capps Texas Power Bar here: http://www.lifestylesport.com/Texas_...-powerbar.htm/
I believe from a few other sources that it is a legit one, and $299 shipped is not bad.
EDIT: Strong reading comprehension. Didn't read the part about you wanting a Rogue one. I would consider the Westside Power Bar since it's for powerlifting. The oly/power bars usually don't have middle knurling and have the double rings for weightlifting.

EliteFTS runs sales like 3x a week it seems. Sign up and you'll get the newsletters on all of them. I've been eyeing the TDB for a while but will probably just put it on my Xmas list for the family to pitch in. A buddy of mine has one and loves it. Rogue bars are nice, but I think they cater more to the Xfitters. You don't need needle bearings on a PL bar. I got a B&R bar from Rogue for my all around bar. It's 29mm but the knurling is easy to hold onto for deadlifting but not too aggressive. It is very stiff though so not much whip to it for DLing. One of the best bars out there is from Iron Wolf barbell but they are very pricey ($640 for the deadlift bar and that's the cheapest bar they make).
Last note is, if your federation doesn't use specialty bars, do not train with one. If they just use a plain old power bar for all three lifts, get one that closely resembles it which is probably the TPB.Meet PRs: 475/280/415

Has to be from Rogue?
Any one of these look like they would make your deadlift and other lifts stronger.

Rogue 2.0 bars are better then their originals. Mostly they are all the same except for choices of color, knurling patterns, and bushing or bearings. The only ones that are different, that I'm aware of, is the B&R bar which is made by York, the Westside power bars which are 29mm vs their standard 28.5 mm and very sharp knurling, and their new 28mm oly bars. Then they also carry other brands that are obviously labeled as other brands.
I've had experience with the b&r bar and the westside bar and really like them both. Rogue has excellent customer service, honor their warranty, and fast shipping. I wouldn't hesitate from ordering any of their bars. This also goes with EliteFTS as well and they have the best SSB out there and have high quality equipment.
If you want a Texas buddy capps bar go through weightlifters wearhouse. You want a great training bar for powerlifting that will challenge you and make you stronger while not breaking the bank get a Jesup #1500 powerbar. You want a good all around bar that you want to do some oly type lifts with or crossfitting the Rep Fitness Excalibur is excellent and also a great price!
Here's a thread on the bars I have right now.
http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...highlight=bars
Edit: I would not recommend the caps ob86 bars to anyone in this section as they are a great general bar for the general public, very cheap, nice knurling, but they wont stand up to the abuse of most powerlifters or strongmen who are not the general public once out of the novice/beginner stages. The bar is fine for the beginner but won't grow so well with the lifter and have seen many cap ob86 bars bent. A nice vintage York power bar if found straight is also a great option. Watch that Craig's list.Last edited by Jason2459; 09-10-2014 at 06:05 AM.

Do all texas power bars have the sharp knurling or just the authentic buddy capps model? I train at home but the gym I have a membership to has a TPB but I don't remember the knurling being as bad as most have described. It was definitely more aggressive than all the other generic bars the gym has but it didn't rip my hands apart. Guess I might need more weight and/or reps for that?

Brand new it is sharp. Over time and use the tips will wear down, get knocked off, grind down.
That rating doesn't mean to much. Need to look at both the tensile and more importantly to bending the yeild strength. It can bend with a lot less weight on the bar with enough force applied. Think long term repeated board presses, rack pulls, pin presses, suspended GM's, heavy ass squats and pulls raw or equipped, equipped benching, failed lifts brought to the pins, etcMy Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

Alot of people talk alot of **** about Rogue, but having first hand experience with them, they blow alot of other companies out of the water, they have solid products and their customer service is outstanding. I have 2 rogue bars. I have their first gen rogue bar, the 28.5mm and their swiss bar. I honestly love the rogue bar. Knurling could be a bit more aggressive but you can beat the **** out of it and it will hold. Ive dropped it on safeties acouple of times, pulled 700+ and its straight. Only thing that sucks is it doesnt have center knurling. I also use a competition Ivanko OBX bar which is also outstanding, but its expensive as ****.
i would recommend
rogue bar / rogue westside bar
jesup power bar
Capps/Troy texas power bar.
Ivanko OBX / Eleiko training bar
Pedlay bars are pretty gnarly too.

It comes and goes. If they don't have it in stock they remove the listing. Watch out though for their Texas power bar its the troy version and not from buddy capps. No they aren't the same. Get the power bar from weightlifters wearhouse the other specialty bars are fine from EliteFTS and are made by Capps.
Though if I were to get a specialty deadlift or squat bar I would get the ones made by Capps sold through Westside Barbell. My Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

I hadn't really though too much about those aspects, I've only been lifting a short while. I know the CAP bar does bend with a regular deadlift and anything over 400lbs, but it isn't very much (you can see in my avatar it has 465 on it and no real bend, but when I first pull you can definitely see it bend a bit). How important are these things for somebody who isn't moving mountains? I don't do rack pulls - I do my grip training with blocks and fatgrips. I've only dropped a few squats on the pins - but I could tell right in the hole that it wasn't going to happen so it only fell a few inches. I'm in the market for another bar so I'd like to start buying things that will outlast me if possible.
Disclaimer: In the market is a loose term, I'm always okay spending my money on my gym.

I recently posted this sort of thread, OP, and I went with the Jesup bar and was very pleased. Good price, great service, prompt delivery, and a very sturdy bar.
The only con I can think of is that it is slightly bigger in diameter than what you'd be puling on in competition, but that's a very minor concern.637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.
600/370/600 - best competition lifts.
575/330/560 - best competition lifts at 181 raw.

This is essentially the westside economy bar at a better price-- i would recommend this bar to anyone. TBH any of the above bars listed are going to be great all purpose barbells. We have beaten the living dog **** out of the high end iron wolfe bars at lexen and they are probably the sturdiest bars there are. They will also bankrupt your average lifter.
In my garage I have a jesup bar, an old capps bar, and when I move I'll probably get the ohio power bar as well.best meet lifts- 935/660/715

ive got a Troy TPB off amazon. i think we payed too much for it but ya live and learn. Its really nice. Sharpest knurling i have ever personally seen and felt in real life.
The gym i go to has mainly Buddy Capps TPB which have the Texas Power Bar logo machined into the end cap area. Great bars but i think that they are a bit too small in diameter for me in the bench and squat. Great stiff bar for pulling in training but could be a bit thicker for benching and squatting. So 28mm is good for pulling on at the gym and 29 would be perfect for bench and squat. just my personal noob opinion. anyone else? or am i just overthinking it. kinda of off topic. lol.529/380/650 (1560@293 raw)
