On the machines keeping track, i burn 700 calories (takes 90 mins for me to do that).
This is a combination of strider, excerise bike, running on the treadmill and walking on treadmill.
I dunno how much calories i would burn during strength training, but i have hreard you burn more in strength training than cradio *that surprised me *

It depends if you are asking my elliptical trainer or my polar monitor. I do HIIT mainly. 15 minutes if I am training that day or 25 minutes if I am just doing cardio. I burn about 450-500 on my 25 minute hit days and somewhere in the 300's if I am doing 15 minutes.
25 minute session = "cycles" of 60/70/80/90% effort @ five cycles with warm up and cool down at about 50% and a one minute step at 100% at the end of the last cycle.
15 minute session = warm up at 50, 60/90% for 5 cycles and a cool down at 50. Each "Step" is for one minute. warm up and cool down are 2-3 minutes each.
It is certainly working. I have averaged 2 pounds lost per week for about a month and a half so far. This is all body fat too. I have increased my lean mass by about 3 pounds as well.
I probably wouldn't have gotten this far without this board either.

it's still "afterburning" whether you eat or not."Too often,we lose sight of lifes simple pleasure, remember when someone annoys you it takes 42 Muscles in ur face to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend you arm and BITCH slap that mothafuwkas upside the head!!!"

this is a good question... i think i only burn 350 for an hour on the treadmill, that is bad isn't it?? how much more will an inclined treadmill burn?? maybe stairs i give up...it seems like racing/running with other people burns a hella lot more calories than just one session of cardio in the gym...

You should eat powershake after cardio. Not eating straight after can cause msc breakdown as body searches for fuel
Finding none, you break down fat as well as muscle. The difference between me and that famous guy in the magazine or the internet is one thing.
TAKING ACTION.
Stuff talent or genes. Taking action is all I need.

Bump on that! I personally consume a P/W shake with whey, glutamine and dextrose right after my cardio session. I burn about 500 calories per a session.
Ummm.. to those reading this. I made the mistake of taking glutamine right after cardio. This is a big No NO! This was explained to me by derekmac that you do not want to spike your insulin level when your body is in a state of still burning fat after cardio. I admit this had slowed my progress down. So don't do it...."Too often,we lose sight of lifes simple pleasure, remember when someone annoys you it takes 42 Muscles in ur face to frown, but it only takes 4 muscles to extend you arm and BITCH slap that mothafuwkas upside the head!!!"

Actually ur getting rid of fat dude, and putting back protein and high GI carbs that goes directly to your muscles and restore your glycogen levels.
About amd_me's post. I'm kinda confused..... bump on my other post....."You put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow... or it can crash... Be water my friend." - Bruce Lee
