Depends where you are. In NY, no because the majority are so far stuck up their own ass it's unreal. But in the South, I've noticed that people are a lot more open and friendly to strangers. I've chatted with random strangers at bus stops down there.Never been out West so can't speak for them.

People don't go around saying hi to everyone but there's a more welcoming vibe depending where you go, people aren't afraid to sit next to each other or say hi and have small talk with strangers.

It's not unusual to see strangers talking on the bus stop, people think you're weird if you don't talk a lot in NA.
