I wake up to a text from him saying 'call me asap. it's serious!'....so i call him and he's like 'I got my backpay today, checked my account and there was 14 grand in it!' I was like 'congrats dude....' so he said 'I know I owe you 1500 but i'm not gonna give it all to you right now so don't expect it'....bert stared the phone like 'u wot m8?'...he came over a bit ago with a bag full of new clothes and shoes and didn't even pay a few hundred of it. lol
For the last few months he's been telling me he was gonna pay me back in full once he got it. The reason he owes it to me is because I let him live with me for free for a year because he was down on his luck. Paid for his computer to get fixed, bought him food, bought him plane ticket and room for a trip to vegas. We've been friends for 15 years and are basically best friends but this is kind of making me mad.
wut do misc? i'm leaning towards just saying fuk it and not really bugging him about but also not talk to him much if this is how he's going to act once he comes up a little bit.

Doesn't sound like he values your friendship as much as you value his.

Honestly man your only real option if you wanna keep the friendship is to guilt trip him.
I used to loan out money a lot and when I asked for it people would always half ass pay and make excuses. And I'd always ask, and they'd get annoyed I'm asking and I'd get annoyed they aren't paying. It's a cycle that only drives two people apart. I would never loan to him again. Just say you don't have sht.
Make an excuse up, say you need to fix your car, you really want to sleep with this expensive prostitute, I don't know, but that's the only way you can really get out without damaging the relationship.

OP i realize that youve come to terms in appreciating that its harder to make friends and find true companionship the older (esp at your age) you are, and a bond of 15 years substantiates some significance. However, people change, as do their terms of "friendship" with you, and a "friend" isnt supposed to leave you hanging dry like that because that goes against the expectations of a healthy friendship youre supposed to be having...

Never loan money to friends assuming you will get it back.
I would tell him that he has enough money to pay me back right now and anything less than 50% is unacceptable unless he is going to use the money to help out with groceries, bills, rent, etc.
Don't be surprised if he says fak u OP I'm gonna go get my own place.Sleep Faster

Ask your friend if you can borrow $1,500.
