    High Volume and High Intensity

hi, i understand that high intensity and high volume cannot be paired together and they shld be cycled for good gains.

hw many sets and reps constitite a high volume workout and hw many constitute a high intensity workout?

shld the exercises done in high volume also be done in high intensity or shld high intensity workouts only include big compound lifts?

hw long shld the cycle for each of high intensity and high volume last?

    thx for any input.

It depends on your definition of high. Volume should be measured as either the total number of repititions or the total poundage lifted(a better definition).

Intensity is a measure of the percentage of one rep maximum.. how heavy the weight is. A high intensity set would be performed with up to 100% of your one rep max, and thus you could only lift it a few times(once for 1RM).. which means a very low volume for that intensity.

I don't think you understood what intensity is when you posted the above. Intensity is not what most people say it is.. the definition from HIT and Mentzer is not the true definition.
