Who would make a good R/P mod, and why? [SRS]

If gachase was interested, imo he would make an excellent mod. AFAIK. He is the only person who meets the requirements making him the best candidate.
He's also very reasonable and intelligent.
On the other hand...I would like to offer my own candidacy under the Elder Party platform.
Under my modship there will be no more problems in R/P.
Nobody would post more than once. Not one single person!

Zenbowman. He is always levelheaded and courteous even when discussing with people he disagrees with.
I believe he would be exceptionally fair handed when confronting issues that may be sensitive but not necessarily prohibitive, while also being more than capable to warn people that cross the line with sheer vileness or threatening posts.Virile agitur

Can u make an exception and accept possibly up to 6 bans this year?
If so, mcfreako would be good because he would rule with an iron fistCall me Sally

I nominate Spartan5364 because he's always given positive replies to people looking for help/advice and can also bring the lols. I think he's temporarily in banned camp due to a minor offence and will be back in action soon.

i would say no active R&P poster should be a mod for one obvious reason: conflict of interest. it's entirely likely that anyone made a mod would dislike someone else's political/religious leanings and be tempted to use their mod powers to promote their view point.
anyone made an R&P mod should be barred from joining in any R&P discussion and i would also advocate limited moderation of the R&P sub-forum, primarily because when discussing things of a sensitive nature, such as religion and politics, tempers can flare and it can get kind of rough and in all honesty the very nature of debate of hot button topics demands some rough housing.
personally i think the ideal R&P mod would be someone that is not allowed to post in this section, moderates only to the extent that they ensure no illegal activity is promoted, enures that multiple accounts are not used, as confirmed via IP and email address used for registration but for the most part let's people speak and argue about topics so long as it doesn't get too nasty or personal.
just a relative newbies opinion.

TranceNRG - because he shares information without an opinion. Many times posing though-provoking questions. I've never seen him be disrespectful to people on here.
_Adam_ - I dunno if he posts here anymore. The filmmaker? He's a cool guy too.
Gachase - many times keeping his seemingly controversial opinions to himself while still engaging in respectful conversations. Although his work schedule might be anti-modding.
I'd put AKMuzzle on here, but you said not to joke around. =(
lol.
OoOO, yes, him too. I agree.Thus let me live, unseen, unknown;

Given that this is the R&P, I'd say some degree of impartially would have to be an important trait. Obviously that disqualifies certain notable posters...

Finding someone low on the banned list seems difficult. I believe (could be wrong) that GOO has a few, but otherwise would probably be good (other than rampant banning in the name of Cthulhu). Mister Collie would be a good one, I think, but I'm not sure he'd want it. Ontop and Cyran64 are also good choices (and no bans that I'm aware of).
Harbinger would be an....interesting choice...
I'm not sure about nominating myself. I fit all the criteria. This universe is an uncaring and amoral place. It owes you nothing and you owe it nothing. If you can wrest happiness from it, at any point, then cherish it. Revel in that happiness.

A better question is, who hasn't been banned?

Under no circumstances offer TranceNRG mod. His brain has better things to do in life and he might be tempted.
If I'm picked I really would ban everybody who posts in R/P for 1 week. Each time. Each post.
I'm also a tough sell because of multiple accounts (I don't have any now, never did here...either srs).
On the plus side my job includes the ability to find multiple accounts of other people based on what gets posted...but...well, that's irrelevant.
I would ban every poster so there'd be no need to hunt.
Srs tho I should be mod for a week. The world would be better. People would do more work. Be less angry.EX IGNORANTIA AD SAPIENTIAM

smart, level headed, reasonable.
i've never seen him flame or bait.
i've never seen someone call him out.
Zenbowman would be my second pick. He is a good guy and consistently has intelligent, thoughtful posts.*MIDF*

I nominate Ontop, he is a rational man while also being religious, so that shows maturity.
If I were mod would I have to stop making fun of Scuba? When all that says 'it is good' has been debunked, what says 'I want' remains.

Zenbowman if you want a poster from this section. On top is also fairly reasonable. Would be better to just have it be someone who doesn't post here who can enforce the rules without having personal prejudices involved.

I honestly can't think of anyone. There's only a small handful of us who are non-partisan here, and pretty much everyone who fits that category wouldn't want the headache of modding Rel/Pol. The vast majority here are very passionate/confrontational about their party affiliation or religion.

<--- obviously because I'm a libertarian which means I would never abuse any member no matter how much I may disagree with them. Conflict of interest would never enter the picture. I was a mod on several other forums, including very big ones.
Lasher would be good too.
Stizzel too. Their names came to mind because they are not arseholes. The monumentally important quality in a mod. A mod needs to respect others' opinions no matter how wrong they may be. Nothing worse than a mod who goes on a power trip.
