Why is there such little hype for the 2014 Olympia?

Is it because last year they did a film and this year they didn't? Is it because everyone is certain Phil is going to win again at this point?

In 2013 it seemed like everyone was talking about the contest much more. I can hardly find any youtube videos of the competitors in 2014, or videos of people making their predictions.

Probably because people realize no matter what Kai does, he's not going to beat Phil, unless Phil comes off. Also Ramy was expected to make a real splash on his debut, instead he placed 8th. They realized that he's not going to be Mr.O for a good 3-4 years.

Ramy was expected to be 7th-5th by the majority of all the members of this section. Jay's gift aside, he nailed it. Now he is expected to be 3-5th, and i believe he will nail it again.

Last year's Mr. O hype was all about Jay's return and his "Strive for Five", as well as Big Ramy's debut and how he'd fare. Other than that, nothing else got people TRULY excited. We know who'll win.

Possibly cos the IFBB keep killing it off by cramming the Olympia weekend full of crap and not focusing on the big cahuna that people actually give two ****s about.

What's funny to me is that for a "sport" continually championed about being subjective, there are people that act that in decisions where there is even a decent amount of closeness, that one side of the argument is SO ridiculous and the other is SO right.

Based on WHAT standard? The one in the books? The one the judges use? Or the one that is personally had? These discussions aren't even possible unless a unified theory of judging is agreed upon. It's similar to arguing anything else with people and then disagreeing based upon your understanding of their words which mean different things to each person aka a waste of time.

Lack of coverage. We should be seeing weekly videos of varying workouts from each of the top 10 pros and we arent getting much. Hard to get excited when it doesnt even feel like it's O time.

Phil has deserved all his wins at the O (Roro don't even think about posting a reply boy). Outside the O I will agree with you he got gifted ACE I think and Sheru going off memory.

But the lack of excitement is deff due to lack of updates and **** talking from competitors.

Yeah but usually there are videos and stuff. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe Muscletech did some huge like month/2 month long "road to the olympia" last year. Again maybe someone else here knows the exact date or sponsor of what I'm thinking of.
