Daughter had a baby boy this afternoon, unfortunately he's almost 3 months early and weighs in at a whopping 2 lbs 9 ounces. She lives on the north side of Milwaukee and my wife and I hate the area she lives in. Anyways she was car jacked in her parking lot 2 days ago and punched in the face and not sure what else all happened, but basically this set off the birth with a few things happening that I will not go into. Right baby is doing as well as he can under the circumstances, not breathing on his own so they have him vented but we were told that's normal.
All the crap they have hooked up to.

Congrats to your daughter, best wishes for a quick recovery, and I hope the little one is off the ventilator soon. When my wife was born--full-term--she weighed in at only 2.2 pounds. Very tiny and she was in an incubator for a month. Her mother is slightly less than five feet tall and my wife is also very short, perhaps half an inch over five feet if that. Genetics? Maybe. Just the way things were and are. Pulling for your grandson!

Holy crap. I hope they catch the assface that did that. My daughter was born 2 months early. She is 12 now and every bit of a pre teen one could handle. .
All the best to your new grandson. It's cliche but you have to go day by day with this. Slowly you will see the machines disappear and you will be holding him soon enough.I'm a great believer in luck and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it. ~ Thomas Jefferson

Wow that's crazy. Who would do such a thing to your daughter.
Wishing her and her little one a speedy recovery. Hope all this nastiness is behind all of you soon and you can enjoy your new little arrival safely at home.** Marie **

It sounds like the Doc's have your little guy squared away pretty well. They've come a long way with these tiny people. Nearly 20 years ago our daughter was born at 25 weeks term and smaller even then your grandson. She's none the worse for the wear today and I'm sure your little guy will do just as well.
Folks that assaulted your daughter need to be drawn and quartered btw....

No doubt the medical field has come a long long way, back when your daughter was born it was pretty much an unknown if she would survive or not. Now days these Dr's and nurses are so well versed in this area that it's almost a non issue, but it's still scary when it happens to one of your family members. I told my wife I was a bit shocked when we walked in the room and there is this uber tiny baby who looked like a toy and is on a vent, no matter what it's not something you want them to have to go thru or for yourself to see.
This is his sister who is a yr old and she was also a premie but only by a few weeks. She is our only grand daughter and has my wife wrapped tightly around her fingers.
