Why can't we just get along brahs.
I love Muricah but can't stand the irrational cold war type hate against my slavic brethren.
With all the subhuman filth spreading in the middle east, Iran saying "death to America", Islam trying to destroy the west, Chinese trying to become a powerhouse in the east... why can't we just unite against those threats and be brahs?

USA/EU/RUSSIA Alliance

This amount of cluelessness is dangerous.
Meanwhile, Putin invades Ukraine...
and
and recently...
The last 3 months have seen Russia's "de-dollarization" plans accelerate. First Gazprom clients shift to Euros and Renminbi, then the UK signs currency swap agreements with China, then NATO ally Turkey cuts ties and mulls de-dollarization, Switzerland jumps in the currency swap agreements, and BRICS create their own non-US-based funding vehicle, and then finally this week, Russia's oligarchs have shifted cash holdings to Hong Kong. But this week, as RT reports, Russian and Chinese central banks have agreed a draft currency swap agreement, which will allow them to increase trade in domestic currencies and cut the dependence on the US dollar in bilateral payments. “"The agreement will stimulate further development of direct trade in yuan and rubles on the domestic foreign exchange markets of Russia and China," the Russian regulator said.
The Russian and Chinese central banks have agreed on a draft currency swap agreement, which will allow them to increase trade in domestic currencies and cut the dependence on the US dollar in bilateral payments.
“The draft document between the Central Bank of Russia and the People’s Bank of China on national currency swaps has been agreed by the parties,” and is at the stage of formal approval procedures, ITAR-TASS quotes the Russian regulator’s office on Thursday.
Can you even put US, the EU and Russia all on the same team in one of your 'tactical' video games?Last edited by IbnKutub; 08-31-2014 at 06:53 AM.

Old habits die hard Spartan
We Europeans (that includes countries of European descent) really like it to bash one another, until recently we had the luxury of being the only real powers on this planet. Times are changing and sadly many people in positins of power have not realized that. Right after the collapse of the Soviet Union the time would have been ideal to integrate Russia into the alliance, America failed to be "a better man". Now we have driven them into the arms of the Chinese, but that is no real friendship: even when both countries had the same political system and with Mao a protege and pupil of Stalin the went to war with one another. It is just recently that both countries have discovered common interests, and those are mainly fear of western intervention and supply/demand of natural ressources. The Chinese are allready infiltrating Siberia and Russia's far east with millions of migrants. China's hunger for ressources won't be satisfied anytime soon and at that point Russia will be in dire need of other Allies.

He was right about Assad and Syria, many Americans now acknowledge this.
You are a muslim so you have both sides as your enemies so it's in your interests to keep us divided.
BTW I know many russians that have no problem and like America. It's mostly Americans that hold a grudge against Russia for no reason. It's sad really

He wasn't right about Assad. The situation is fluid, and will carry on developing in the months and years to come.
Russia didn't want Assad to fall as they wanted to protect their own interests. They helped prop up Assad and did everything to stop any Western intervention.
They opposed Western intervention in Iraq, Libya - when have they ever helped the Americans? and vice-versa.
They are enemies to each other and you will see their aims and plans for even one country will never be the same. America slapped Russia in the face with its actions in Iraq, Libya and threats against Assad. Putin stood up this time with Syria. You will find some people in the West saying, they should have got in much sooner in order to avoid the current mess today.
Regarding Ukraine, Putin has lied directly to near enough every European leader, he told bare-faced lies to Angela Merkel, the thing with Europe though is they won't stand up to Russia and Putin knows this, they don't have the means. I don't recall European leaders and Putin being on the same page on anything, the Americans too. How you see some sort of alliance is beyond me. America has been antagonising Russia re: missile shield, for many, many years now. The Russians believe America is interfering directly in their affairs. Didn't Russia bring down a US drone while Kerry was having talks with Sergei Lavrov in London some months back.
I am Muslim, yeah, but I am loyal to the UK and not a fan of what Russia has been doing on the World stage. They are not a force for good.

I was trying to figure what his 'second' nationality might have to do with his Putin fawning.
Turns out he's Polish.
Go figure.
Though I am curious as to what his fellow Pollacks might think of his Russian fandom.
I was under the impression that the Poles couldn't stand Russians with fiery passion...much like the Finnish.

I honestly dont know the cause of his self hate. He refuses to move back to Poland. His countrymen have been shat on time and time again yet he insists on trying to gain acceptance from others.
The Polish Jews I know represent and dont try to fit in because they know they'll never be accepted. OP is another case though and its sad to watch

NATO did not expand east per se - eastern Europe expanded NATO. That has happened because those nations seek defensive protection from Russia for good reason. That expansion is the fault of the Russian government's history towards those and other countries in the area, not some evil plot by NATO. NATO is a collective defense. Those nations have the right to seek NATO membership. At the same time Russia also has the right to politically chalenge those decisions but when it does so militarily, then it is only further justifying the NATO memberships. That is one of the endless reasons why Putin and Co actions are irrational. Ukraine is literally begging for it now but I doubt that happens anytime soon.
BTW that map is old. Expect Sweden and Finland to be seeking NATO membership shortly if Russia does not somehow soon drastically change its behavior.

If putin stays in office longer it is more likely a Russia+China partnership will flourish. The econmic and military reasons are plain to see.
If putin dies or is somehow ousted from power (unlikely) then closer ties to the west are highly possible. It is in US's interests to pacify the east European border to focus military 100% on east asia.
There will never be a Putin-US alliance because Putin supports a strong Russia and equal footing on the worldstage between world powers where as the US supports dominating the world with western ideals+leadership.

Al-Quida/ISIS/Hamas/ect's DREAM would be for the US, EU, Russia, and China to be at war with each other. What we need to do is basically form a pact, a civilized world pact. I don't think we should include China because they are still red.
For pretty much the entire W Bush admin we were working with the Russians a lot. Seems things were going very well.
I think the US and Russia should get together and do a "Middle East Tour", where we will bring the middle east freedom and vodka!
ANother tactic that if I were in charge I would try to set up would be a good cop, bad cop relationship with Russia, where when a country was out of line, one of us would agress on that country and the other would offer to save them if they would do as they were told. Something tells me that Russia would have more fun being the bad cop.

Exactly. Easy to point fingers at the US while disregarding the choice of sovereign countries to join what is strictly a defense pact with other countries in the event that an aggressive nation decides to...oh, I dunno, ANNEX a part of said countries sovereign territory? Also, expect Sweden and Finland to join NATO shortly.
Sweden and Finland Forge Closer Ties With NATO
(Move Comes as Finnish Airspace Is Violated by Russian Aircraft Three Times in One Week)
It's as if Russia is begging these countries to join NATO.Life is an echo.
