Good morning everyone! Friday is here at last!
Let's take a minute, some time today, to think about upcoming weekend plans and make contingency plans for our meals. Be prepared.
Also, for some people settling in to fall means baking and homey things. Take some time to research some recipes so you can have some favorites while still staying in your plan and guilt free.....skinny taste . com has wonderful things....from soups to desserts and everything in between.
I did not walk yesterday....I had tons of errands and cleaned my house. Today is lifting (AllPro light) and 1 house to clean. And then I'll come home and have lunch and head back to my husband's work to help out for 3 or so hours answering the phones. UGH. I should be home by 9.
Was well under calories yesterday but wasn't hungry so that's fine. Just going to keep saying no to snacks...have smaller portions and start making some headway here. My average loss has always been .6 lbs per week.......I'd like to raise it to 1 lb (ok I'd LIKE 1 1/2 lbs lol). So trying that now.
As Dsup says, if you want to lose more, eat less...it's as simple as that.
More later.

Good morning people.
Day 10 of 30 of my cut, down 6.5 lbs so far, starting to see some separation in my obliques and my love handles ahve definately shrinked. The first 3 lbs or so was waterweight but I've definately lost a visible amount of fat.
Been doing cardio every day, about 30 minutes on the days I lift and 45 minutes on non lifting days. Adding some cardio and not relying solely on deficit from food seems to be making a difference compared to when I tried cutting this spring with minimal cardio. I'm eating around 21-200 calories so for me that's allready a 5-600 deficit though, extra cardio sessions on top of that seems to be making the weight loss pretty rapid so far.
Kinda experimenting with cutting faster (at least 2lbs a week), I've tried slow cutting before and the slow progress frustrated me a lot when doing that, not really for me.Shreds > cheats

My weight is still remaining high. Hoping it's due to my cycle.
I'm still doing good on maintaining my 1800 cal average so far this week. Still a tiny bit below. I should probably start making an effort to drink more water in case I'm retaining a lot. I never really drink much.
Yesterday was cardio.
This morning is chest, shoulders and triceps.** Marie **

g'morning, all. i feel like there's no point in my weighing in since i'm still ferris-wheeling around the same numbers. i weigh myself daily to make sure i'm keeping everything in check, but i'm hating the spreadsheets right now.
i have conflicting goals atm. i still have some fat to lose, i haven't been able to make myself eat less/haven't been able to make myself do more cardio, but i have been enjoying my weight training... on balance i guess i'd say i'm in recomp mode again even though i really need to drop at least 5 lbs of fat.

I usually pan sear it with cooking spray or a tiny bit of extra virgin olive oil. Garlic and herb Mrs. Dash goes really well with it. Other times, I use a cajun seasoning. I typically pair it with veggies, such as green beans, asparagus, sauteed spinach, etc.
Try measuring yourself. I've been fluctuating around 210 since almost the beginning of the year but I've definitely slimmed down.
Been putting off buying new jeans but I will definitely have to grab a couple pairs for the fall as well as some new work slack.s

Weight in: 125.8 --- wow! How did I gain almost 4 lbs so easily since the last thread?
I'm posting to stay accountable. Obviously the stress of starting school at a new job placement did it for me. The whole month of dizziness really threw me out.
Now, I just have to stick with what has worked before. Slow and steady and small deficit. Doing great so far averaging around 1800 cal. Just have to watch today and Sunday.
Next week I'll lower the cal down to 1750 and so on every week until things start moving in the right direction.
I have to think long term.** Marie **

Don't panic! It can be so disheartening to see the scale move the wrong way. Stress is a huge factor!!! Also, You are already pretty lean. Have you thought of a diet break? Maybe just 2 days?
I know Dsup eats less than 1800 cals a day when he's getting super lean.....and he's a lot taller than you. Unfortunately, you may have to drop lower. ??
That's all I have. I just wanted to commiserate with you. Hope it gets right quick.

Good morning!!!!
Happy Saturday. I made it through answering the phones in a Chinese Rest. last night for 4 hours. Actually, it kept me busy, occupied and out of the house where I'd normally be sitting and relaxing. Shhhh...don't tell my husband that I rather liked it. And made a couple bucks.
So today is walk. Treadmill it is since it's raining. Then my son has a football game so I'll go to that. Then....laundry....and nothing planned tonight.
Food has been ON POINT!!!! Lifting is solid. I'm going to see a big drop this week. Someone who hasn't seen me for a while said I was wasting away! LOL....50 lbs to go.....people are clueless!
So make sure your plans are solid. And have a back up plan to the plan.
Have a great day all!

Thanks Kristen,
I think this last month was my diet break LOL I ate way above maintenance on average due to stress!
1800 cal is my maintenance. I tested it last year over 3 months.
I do need to drop lower but it's tricky because if I go to low, I get dizzy at work. And I can't pass out in a class full of kids with Bunsen burners LOL
I'll just take away 50 cal every week until maybe 1500-1600. Recomp is more or less my best option right now.
Thanks for the commiseration. It helps** Marie **

I hear ya! That totally sucks. Dizziness it serious. Have you checked blood sugars? Eating less sucks too! I'd rather exercise sometimes than eat less. I can burn 400 cals in an hour on the treadmill....LOL
I think recomping/maintaining is a great idea for you right now. Kids and fire could be dangerous. Well....kids now a days are dangerous anyway! LOL

I know about dangerous kids LOL I've got two boys!
I tested my cal expenditure with bodymedia. Workout made NO difference for me! I can't really run so I can't burn that much LOL
but working at school an extra hr made tons of difference! I burn 1000 more calories on work days vs a day at home housecleaning. It's crazy!
So returning to teaching really messed with my metabolism. I've been fine now for a week or so. If I eat a lot at breakfast and lunch, I'm good for the day. No dizzy spells. Now all I have to do is start cutting some food in the evening and I should be fine** Marie **

Weigh in: 186
Not a lot to say about this week that I didn't write a couple days ago. Kinda surprising to see it jump up another 3 pounds just in the past couple days. So be it. I'm 99% better from my cold, and that's gonna be the biggest factor in my getting back into the swing of things. Plus, I'll be back to working long hours, so there won't be a lot of time to eat anyway. Hope everyone has a great weekend! I'm heading down to New Mexico for a month. Never been, should be interesting!

Good morning everyone!
Happy Sunday! It's supposed to be a day of rest so listen to your body if you need to rest.
I did not walk yesterday so I walked today. Dropped my daughter off at work for 7:30 and hit the canal. Got 4 miles in and now I'm having my second cup of coffee and relaxing.
The sun is shining here today (finally!) so I may head out and pick up the yard a bit (paint chips everywhere). Also a bit of planning for the upcoming week!
And mentally preparing for my Monday heavy All Pro day ....12's coming up!!!!!

"It doesn't matter what exercise you do, but man was made to move, to eat sparingly, to work hard and to screw as much as he can manage. Do all that, and you will look as good as your genes will let you, be content as the arseholes around you will allow, and maybe get a few screws. The particular virtues of weight training are in the discipline it brings to both mind and body, and, if you do it right, it will make you look good naked and do well what you got your clothes off to do."
