Bachelor's in business administration... interests in gym employment
Hello,
I have recently (this month) graduated with my bachelor's in business administration with an emphasis in marketing. I chose this path because the business world does interest me. Now that I have graduated I have been considering where I would be most happy as a place for my long-term career goals; The place that immediately comes to mind is being involved with the fitness industry. While I do not regret pursuing my studies in business and I would consider many other options, I would really like to utilize my degree at a gym chain. However, I do question how useful this business degree would be in landing me the job. My end goal would be becoming a manager at one of my local gyms and possibly developing this into something more from that point forward.
With this said, I have been considering pursuing certification in CPR/AED, followed by certification with the NSCA. How realistic do you feel these goals are? Would I be wasting my time? Even if I had to start as a personal trainer, to get my foot in the door, I would more than enjoy this as I simply like the idea of helping others.
