Dude I'm 30 and college was about a decade ago. All the partiers, drinkers, smokers and druggies from the college days look like they're 15 years older than their actual ages. I don't care how much "fun" a person has because of intoxication, that temporary fun is not worth it in the long run.

just gonna put this out there, most straight edge people i know are super lame and awkward socially. that doesn't mean that being straight edge necessarily makes you boring, or that drinking/doing drugs makes you cool. conversely, people who use drugs and drink alcohol excessively are usually douche bags.

This, I've declined a lot of offered beer and never ever had anyone say anything, they just assumed I wasn't thirsty. Maybe you are just being a douche about it or something? If you are that guy who tells the world about your ''straight edge'' lifestyle then its no wonder they don't like you.

I'm saying that those social situations give and lead to great life experiences. I think we're having a miscommunication. You don't necessarily need it, but I've personally made a lot of good memories and connections as a result of going to parties and bars. It's not necessarily bad to be straight edge but you can miss a lot of opportunities by doing so.

IMO you don't have to consume alcohol to have fun. I just think that's a really silly logic, I don't knock people for drinking at all. Its there choice but from my life experience I'm just not a big fan of getting drunk all the time.

Alcohol, cigarettes, mj...all are considered drugs. Not saying get hooked to it but you have to try them at least once to see how your body reacts to those substances. That's what life is all about..getting new experience.

I don't take anything either but I've tried everything and when life gets real bad..I know what substance to use to get rid of those downtime. Now, if I never took those substances..I would end up spending days with heavy head when all it takes is one hit and those stress melts away...but I wouldn't be able to it if I don't even know what it does.

For example..you're getting all these cramps because of lack of pottasium and u have banana...but u don't eat it because you don't even know it contains pottasium...so unless you're knowledgable about it banana can't help you and that's why you need to be knowledgable about lot of these stuff. Drugs are like banana..they aren't bad if used in moderate amount.
