    dk5bdubs AppNut HG4 UP Log

Thanks to the very kind folks over at AppNut for allowing me to log a full bottle of their reformulated HG4 UP product. This is the new version of their product initially called HGH UP with a new formula. In addition, the dosing strategy for this supplement is slightly different as well. For this product, the recommended dosing is to take 4 capsules before bed each night on a 5-day on, 2-day off protocol. I am taking my 4 capsules on an empty stomach before bed.

I began using this product two nights ago. So far, I have to say that my sleep for those two nights was very good. When I used the initial HGH UP product, I felt like I slept deeper compared to not using anything before bed. I feel the same way with this new version after just a few nights as I felt like I was able to get into a deep sleep on both nights. The only time I really woke up was to use the bathroom because of how much water I drink during the day.

The initial version of this product also helped me to feel more recovered after each of my workouts. After just two days of the new version, I can't really say too too much about the recovery, but I've felt great going into each following day's workouts.

Improved sleep and improved recovery are the two biggest impact factors that I'm looking to monitor while using this supplement. So far, both have been very positive and I'll be sure to keep updating my thoughts on those two areas.

Old formula says that it stimulates muscle hyperplasia & hypertrophy.

They have a profile up for the new formula?

Glad to see all of you joining along for the ride.

This morning I trained arms with cardio mixed in between each lifting set. When I train arms, I want to get more of a full-body workout in as well, so for my cardio, I did deadlifts. I used a slightly lower weight so that I could knock out 25 reps of deadlifts after each set that I did for arms. So by the end of my workout, I was gassed!

I had completed a leg day the day before, so I was quite sore, but overall, I felt like my body recovered quite well and allowed me to push myself hard again this morning. So for the recovery aspect from HG4 UP, another home run there! I slept quite well last night too. I have ZERO issues falling asleep at night as I'm always exhausted after my long days. I was able to get about 7.5 hours of sleep last night and I woke up feeling great. Which is why I was able to hit the gym so hard today and really push myself once again.

Last night was my fifth night for HG4 UP and so tonight and tomorrow will be my two days this week where I don't use the supplement before bed.

As has been the case for each night thus far, I slept incredibly well again last night. Falling asleep for me is not an issue whatsoever, so I literally fall asleep within a minute of hitting the sack each night. For last night, I was able to get in about 7 hours and 15 minutes of sleep. I woke up feeling great today and hit legs this morning at the gym.

I train legs twice each week, every Monday and Friday, so my Monday sessions are on one less day of rest. But I actually felt better today than I did on Friday for legs, so I really crushed my workout today. My leg days are always higher volume as I find this allows me to really tax myself while keeping my body feeling fresh and able to recover. This works better for me than going really heavy where my form starts to get compromised.

So I hit a ton of leg presses to start out my workout today and then got into squats once I was nice and warmed up. Each set was a drop set in same fashion, so right off the bat, I hit 200 reps on presses and squats. I then worked in some extensions and leg curls along with other pressing movements along the way. So my session lasted for about 2 hours, but my body was ready to take on the challenge and I ended up having a fantastic workout.

My recovery after each workout has been great too. I have yet to feel like I haven't given myself enough time to feel whole again and I'm able to get to the gym on a daily basis to keep grinding.

Sounds like you're having good success on HG4 Up. I just took my first dose tonight.

I've thought about doing legs twice a week. My legs need the most work, but it's also the workout I like the least .... which is probably why my legs need the most work!

So I'm at the point in this log where I'm at the exact half-way point. I have been taking 4 caps of HG4 UP for the last 5 nights before bed and tonight/tomorrow will be my 2 days off for the week. On each of the nights where I've used this supplement, sleep has been fantastic, regardless of how many hours I'm able to get. On the nights where I'm only able to get 6 hours or so, I wake up feeling refreshed. But on the nights where I can get as many as 8, I wake up feeling like a million bucks. Typically, I can only sleep for around 7 hours or so before my body wakes itself up. But twice over the last 5 days, I was able to sleep for 8 hours, and let me tell you, it was amazing. Not only was I able to sleep longer and get into the deep sleep mode, but that extra rest really helped my body recover from my workouts. I have been pushing really hard in the gym lately and optimizing my recovery is something I'm always looking into. So for these last few days, the recovery element of this supplement has definitely exceeded my expectations.

This morning was leg day again for me and after only getting just over 6 hours last night, I still was able to jump right into my routine this morning and start strong right from the get-go. Another super high-volume day for me where I did almost only all presses and squats for the entire duration. I did do some leg extensions with an elastic band wrapped around the ankle pad which was a new wrinkle in my training this week. I have no doubt that I'll be extremely sore from that little change alone.

Hope you can walk tomorrow lol

That's awesome that you have gotten 8 hours of sleep recently. Like you, I normally can't do that even when given the opportunity. Body's used to getting 6 or less

Love it when I get more than 8 hours of sleep.

Notice any minor weight loss or minor physical appearance from this point?

Tonight will end up being the 15th night of actual usage of HG4 UP. I've been using it the last four nights and tonight will make my fifth in a row, so Monday and Tuesday will be my two off days for the week.

Last night, I didn't get nearly as much sleep as I would have hoped for, but I still woke up feeling really good this morning. I felt like the 6 hours of sleep that I did get last night were still enough to allow me to wake up feeling ready to roll. This morning's routine consisted of hitting chest and I also did deadmill sprints in between each lifting set that I performed. I was also a little short on time to complete my session today, so the only downtime that I had during the entire workout was however long it took me to walk from wherever I was hitting my chest exercise to the treadmill section of my gym.

As obey46 asked, my weight is actually staying towards the lower end of where I've been at over the last few years. I'd say that about 6 months ago or so, I walked around on a daily basis at 175lbs. When I weighed myself earlier in the week, I was 170. I think its the sprints that I'm doing in between my lifting sets that has allowed me to drop down to the 170lb mark. In terms of physical appearance, I personally feel like I'm a lot tighter than I was. I am able to see some veins in my midsection on some days so I can see that this area of my body has definitely gotten more defined. I think that my arms are looking better too. Always using a full range of motion helps too as I feel like I'm working each bodypart to the fullest.

Good to hear! Doing some cardio definitely helps leaning out a little bit especially if you're lean bulking.

Back into the final week of using HG4 UP for this log. I'm really able to notice a difference when I use and when I don't use HG4 UP in terms of sleep. I definitely fall asleep and stay asleep much better on the nights using HG4 UP. Not that I don't sleep well on those other 2 nights, but just not as good.

Overall though, regardless of the off days, my workouts have all been going great and my recovery has been fantastic. I really do feel like I can tell a difference in the time it takes my body to bounce back after each workout and when I get up in the morning each day, I continue to feel like I'm able to go full steam shortly after.

Tomorrow is leg day for me so I'll be sure to hit a high-volume workout like always. Bring on the weekend DOMS!

So leg day was a complete success for me this morning. I took my 4 caps of HG4 UP before bed last night, slept like a baby, got up to hit the gym first thing this morning, and crushed my workout. As always, I did a really high volume workout this morning. I felt like with nearly 8 hours of sleep that I got last night that I could push myself even harder this morning. And that is exactly what I did. I did a completely new routine where I once again did a lot of presses first and then hit squats towards the end of my routine. I felt like by doing this I'm able to make sure my lower back is nice and warmed up and that has helped me to avoid injury to it (knock on wood).

So when I have been taking HG4 UP at night, I pretty much lay my head down on the pillow and I am out. And I'm finding that I'm having more dreams that I remember the following morning. Normally, if I'm able to fall into a deep sleep, I don't really remember my dreams. But since using HG4 UP, that has changed for me. I think that means I'm sleeping even deeper which is probably why I'm waking up feeling so refreshed, so no matter how many hours of sleep I get the night before.

Can't beat getting a good night's sleep, especially when it's deep. Makes such a difference in day-to-day work, much less during a workout.

So I've wrapped up this log of HG4 UP and man oh man, what a great supplement. I really enjoyed the first version of this product when it was HGH UP, but I think I enjoyed the new formula/version even more.

All in all, this supplement definitely provided me deeper sleep each night and helped my recovery tremendously. There wasn't a single day of training where I wasn't able to really push myself and then recover adequately to do it again the next day. Being able to consistently hit the gym and hit it hard was a huge benefit from HG4 UP.

After about two weeks of using this product, I could tell that I was looking a little better in the mirror. Nothing major, but feeling & looking a bit tighter. That kept the motivation levels high and it all worked together to keep me really motivated over this past month.

My dosing of HG4 UP was 4 pills each night before bed. I'd do 5 nights on and then 2 nights off. I worked out the off days so that they weren't around my leg days. I wanted to make sure that I was able to use HG4 UP the night before and the night of leg day so that I could get as much quality sleep as possible and recover from those brutal sessions.

An excellent job by AppNut in reformulating this product. It's definitely a winner and anyone who uses it will certainly feel the same way. It's always sad when a log of a GREAT product comes to an end. So my time with HG4 UP is over but I definitely score this supplement a 10 out of 10 in every conceivable category. Nothing negative to report at all. Only positives as I felt better, slept better, recovered better…..you name it almost.
