Whatever ab work you feel the most comfortable with. If you feel like it's not helping you out or you're not benefiting from them, even at a 105 squat you can still kinda tell when something isn't doing sh*t for you, then drop it and do a different ab exercise. So to answer your question if you don't like the ab machine do cable crunches or some other abdominal movement.

My personal favorite ab exercise, which I see a lot of my sprinter friends do (Also one guy on this forum who is jacked and can run a 4.3 which if you are unaware is insanely fast) are weighted half russians. Some people like weighted planks, some people decline crunches, vacuums.. Do a wide variety of ab exercises, it'll only help your stability on compounds and they make your stomach look better lolol

I'm a strong advocate of doing weighted core work - regardless of how much you squat or deadlift, weighted core work is important if you want a decent core (IMO, others may disagree).

You don't necessarily HAVE to do cable crunches if you don't want to - Jason himself recommends weighted crunches. In my case, I'll do a 3x10 of any typical weighted core exercise (depends on my mood and the equipment available) after each workout, and I might chuck in some lighter, higher rep work if I have time.

You can use any abs exercises and do as many as you like. He mentioned it in one of his Monday Q&A video.
