I cleared like 30 mobs around the box before opening, opened it, wanted to lightning warp away like I always do with these boxes and got one shot before I got anywhere...

Step 2: Place smoke mine or activate warp
Step 3: Click box and warp away or click smoke mine right after activating box
Step 4: kill mobs without standing on corpses. Or use flesh offering/devouring totem

Do you know when these actually trigger? I heard it is only once you actually move your character. Warp is safe then?

In my case, I wasn't even aware of detonate dead boxes until now, so yea not mad at all, just got too complacent farming ledge.

Warp is safe when you time it right. I usually remove reduced duration on it when using on dangerous boxes. First you cast the warp, then click the box and it will teleport you away immediately.
When you place it further away it will take longer for it to trigger since it's based on your movement speed vs distance to travel. A smart trick is to use flesh offering or devouring totem to remove all the corpses before triggering the box.

Also smoke mine is safer than lightning warp imo since it's easier to use. Just don't place it behind stuff because then the teleport can be blocket(test it out). Would also recommend using smoke mine on exile boxes since the lag when opening won't be as dangerous (and you can place the smoke mine over 1screen away into safety). When opening freeze boxes you click dispel frozen flask at the same time as you trigger smoke mine.

Finally starting to understand this game a bit more, ditched my level 53 ranger in standard as i fked the passive tree soooo bad... Started a new ranger in rampage and already is x100 better

enjoying the endless ledge every now n then but missed out on the 12 min bursts

Describing the vision range issue is just one of those weird things about the game. Explaining to someone who's never played the game that lightning warping to an upper corner will give it the longest duration, but then you can't see back down to kill or defend yourself from the monsters.. it's like explaining greek calculus or something.

It's really a huge thing and why Split Arrow is the best skill - Groudslamming southward is basically suicide. A problem games with 2d art never had. Eh..

Just vaal'd 6 level 3 empowers and my 6l cloak of defiance in beyond.

Cloak ripped into a rare, 3 empowers stayed level 3, 2 deleveled to lvl 2 and one level 4 :P

Also vaal'd some other 20/20 gems and got lvl 21/20 ele weak and enfeeble plus some that stayed 20/20 and 20/23

Never noticed the Dark Arts dual wielding cluster gives you 20% cast speed for four points. Whelp, I guess that cements dual daggers as the best way to go for wizards. In theory +3 skill gems on a staff could get you +50% more damage with Added ____ and Empower, which would make up for the lower Increased Spell Damage%... but with 20 to 25% more spell%, 20% added faster cast, and the added crit, there's no serious comparison now. At least until they add more support gems for spells that seriously scale with levels.

Coming to accept that Sceptres do way more damage than Staves with attacks too; just because of how the tree's set up with much better one hand crit.

That it's the only d3. The rest you need to know will come in time. Look up some short vids on how currency works and browse the forums for types of builds you'd want.

I haven't played diablo 1 or 2, only 3, and I must say I'm blown away at the skill tree. It's insane. Any tips for a noob? Skill tree isn't that complicated once you understand how it works. Look up builds on the forums and find one you like that also shows how you should progress through the skill tree, showing where you should be at 30, 50, 70, 90 points etc. After following a few builds through guides you'll get the hang of how the tree works.

iirc leagues end nov 20, afterwards they're running a week race, a few days break and releasing new leagues start/mid december

Rofl really starting to believe rngesus is listening to me. My genuine thought process the last couple of days.

Few days ago: I wanna buy an atziris step but not sure i cba to get one for 20-25c before selling some 1ex+ items i have, unless you know, i get an ex right now trolol... 20 mins later ... ex drops.

Today: Meh still cant be arsed to get one till im near 69... unless you know, i get another ex drop, double trololol... literally 10 SECS later while looking at boots on xyz at same time.. ex drops.

Thats 4 in the last 2 weeks of deciding to play a lil bit again while trying new builds, and 9 overall this league. Oh rngesus, please continue to watch over me in the next league.

you dont keep masters, but it will be easier to achieve master lvl 8 - i think they are giving more exp per mission
no idea on the leagues
