The blackwidow link I can type for you, the actuall listing is too much to type though, I have ADHD!

    www.blackwidowtg.com <------ click the link.

click "bars" then click "press bars" then on on the "Multi grip press bar" Look at how the bar is in the middle, your head/face should clear easier with the bar like this.

I need to go online and find a poster that says "STFU and just be happy with what you've got".
One day, maybe not soon, but one day, it will be mine turn to feel the bar bend. One day.

Walk around your yard, garage, house, shed and start collecting stuff you havent used in more than a year, sell it all and fund your lifting game!

Put it on either Ebay or craigslist, craigslist is better since you make 100% of the money, paypal takes none!

ID, maybe you mentioned it but how do you like it with the bar not being standard olympic size? I have the bar in my cart, but am not sure if I like the idea of the weights not fitting the bar like they do with my current bars. Maybe it is no big deal.

The bar ends are made of schedule 40 tubing which is 1.9". This make is slightly under a standard oly size. The difference is nothing really. Only issue is spring clips wont work on it. I use the 'lock jaw" style clamps and they hold just fine. (sold by Rogue and several others). I would recommend them for ohp and front raise type movements.

I can tell you this.....I am very excited to have this and I KNOW this will be a staple piece of equipment for years to come. Wish I had gotten one years ago.

They still have a great deal going on them, so I need to do it now. They also sell clips for it. I suppose the clips would be of equal quality as the bar, so I may have them throw those in, since they are relatively inexpensive.

I read that the home depot clips work great, and are super cheap too.

I'll find a pic for y'all since I'm on my home computer. BRB!

When I got my bar I realized my collars didn't fit but before I could bother to looking for some I found I don't really need them on this bar. The powder coat seems to offer a lot more friction than regular nickel bars.

For a starting strength or strong lifts routine, for someone with rotator cuff issues, will this bar be a good option for bench press and rows? I am thinking of getting the elite fts one.

I ordered one, and I'm doing a program similar to SS, it's the Greyskull LP program. I'll be using this bar for bench,OHP, and rows. I ordered the multi grip press bar from Black widow.

I'm pretty excited to get it, it takes a few weeks to get them since they are not made by Chinese children or 3rd world countries, this here bar is all hand made in 'Murica!

I just realized that Induced_Drag has convinced me to buy two things from his review threads, first was lifting large knee and elbow sleeves about a year or so ago, and now this bar!

Your reviews are killing my wallet, bro! Lol!

I have this bar. I also have a custom power rack, and a yolk bar made by Dean at Black Widow. He does really nice work. The rack I bought from him is exceptional. If I were to complain about anything, is that he does not have the ability to add knurling, which I would really like to have on the football/swiss bar, and I think he needs to get a new guy to do his powder coating.

I'm considering a rack from Dean. Glad to hear you like it. It's either him or a Rogue R3 but if prices are comparable (and quality) I'd rather give the small guy the business.

I bet one of those would be just what the Dr ordered for front squats... Love front squats - hate wrist pain. Anybody tried it yet?
"Do you think SHE actually felt like that was a sexual thing he was doing? She's like 6. Only an actual p3do would think that she thought he was groping her, too."

"Not that it's impossible to touch a minor inappropriately, but it is true that a 6 year old girl will not recognize someone putting a hand on their chest as groping, whether it is inappropriate or not."

I dont think it would work for that. The 'cage' which your hands rest would not rest on your upper chest shoulders well. It would be trying to rotate as it would not be transferring through the center of mass.

As another note, I was able to do some awesome 'french presses' for triceps with the bar. REALLY awesome. Hits probably better then skull crushers with no elbow or wrist strain. I'll post a vid next time I do them in this thread.

Bumping this thread with hope ID sees it.

Well, it's been 2+ months, was it worth the investment? I'm just wondering because I am still on the fence regarding buying one as a x-mas present to myself.

Says currently out of stock on the link, brah.

But I guess I am more interested if ID would buy his again in hindsight. i.e. does he like it, does it work, is it a staple of his routine now, etc.

I'm not as concerned with price/cost, since I don't even buy anything for myself anyway.

I saw black widow had a black friday sale at like 175 on the bar. I am VERY VERY happy with bar.

I have been using it weekly. When my shoulders act up, that is all I do for bench is use this bar. (so much easier on the shoulder) I also still rotate OHP between this and a normal bar. I even started to use it for bent rows.

Really cant say enough good things about it. Wish I had gotten one years ago. I can safely say that this will be in the rotation as long as I workout.

I dont think you would regret spending on this. Very few things I consider a "staple" and this has become one of them for me.

    Hope that helps some.....

Looks like I missed the boat on that. Says $200 on the website link now.

You think there is much of a quality difference in yours and the one JRT6 linked? They wanted $150 (but like I said, says out of stock so may not be an option).

Thanks for the input, ID. I just have had MANY people tell me that I will be looking at shoulder issues down the road with the frequency/amount I bench/incline bench/OHP. Right now I would say I have 100% shoulder health. Never had any pain, ROM issues, injuries, as far as the shoulders go---and I would like to keep it this way. So kind of think this would be a good preventative action to take, as well as a way to breath some new life into my workouts (break up the monotony some).

Your guy Dean is hooking me up, ID. Just need to double-check some measurements on my bench before I order. He said he could even custom build me one for the same price if it doesn't fit my bench for whatever reason.

That is awesome. Yep...he is a good guy and builds a solid product. Never heard anyone say anything but good about him.
