I'm a hard gainer I eat loads around 4000 calories give or take but I still lose my weight gains but keep the muscle ? Could it's just be definition from lifting?
Or am I missing something ? Help please

You're not a hard gainer. You just aren't eating enough.
If you think you're eating 4000 and not gaining then eat more. There is nothing more to it. Eat more.

Hard gainer man wish i had your problem. I eat anything and the scale jumps. Like said eat eat eat. Health fats are a good way to add lots of cals fast. Add coconut oil to shakes ect.

Hard gainers usually are just afraid to eat calorically dense foods. Add in a pint of ben and jerry's ice cream and now your eating around 5200 calories a day. Make a homemade mass shake out of a cup of oats, 2 cups milk, a banana, 2 scoops whey, and 2 tbsp of peanut butter and you've got 1000 calories + in a glass. If you aren't lactose intolerant milk can be your friend OP!

Start taking a probiotic and digestive enzyme. Sometimes when you can't gain weight it is because your body isn't digesting your food properly.

OP I wish we could swap metabolic systems for a few months. Liquids are the easiest way to add calories. Beer, juice, soda etc. Just be careful you are still young and have that young metabolism at some point it will probably change.

If you're seriously losing weight at 4k calories, you could have worms. Of course, it's far more likely you just can't count calories correctly.
