Reports have emerged claiming police will allege New Zealand tourist Warriena Wright was trying to escape Gable Tostee when she plummeted to her death from the 14th-floor of a high rise Gold Coast apartment block.

News Corp has reported police believe Wright was trying to climb onto the balcony below Tostee's when she fell.

There are precedents of murder convictions in cases where somebody has died while fleeing.

Wright's last words will allegedly also be revealed from collected witness statements and extracted audio recordings from mobile phones.

It is believed that police will claim she said "No, no, no...I just want to go home" before falling.

It will be alleged Tostee assaulted her before she tried to escape.
