My favorite gym I have ever trained at was Stanford's Varsity gym. Simply amazing! The time spent with their world class strength coaches and variety of equipment is time I will never forget. The techniques, skills and training I learned was beyond anything I've every received from a typical gym. It was very special to learn from people who live and breath strength and agility training!

Sports Fitness and Fun in Florida, NY. There is nothing special about this gym, not a hardcore gym, it has everything I need though. The reason it's special to me is because it's the gym I learned at. I worked out for a year and made little to no gains... I started researching on my own and learned about proper nutrition and training and supplementation and I lost 75 lbs (while growing from 5 4''-5 11'') in a 7-9 month time span. This gym gave me a self confidence and an Identity when I put on 40lbs of LBM over the next 3.5 years. Unfortunately I did hurt my back in this gym, and was out for a number of years (mainly due to opiate addiction from the pain medication they started me on). I started back up at this same gym in January. It has helped keep me grounded, I have gotten some of my size back, (I still have plenty of fat to lose however), but this gym feels like "home" to me. It's like when they say you always care about your first love, well this was my first love. Its once again given me that hope, not just hope the FACT I will get in great shape once again. This picture I actually took 2-3 night's ago at my gym, so It's me at my gym. (Yes I am going on a long cut soon) . Sorry this wasn't that brief, this had reminiscing.....

Joe's Gym in Eire, PA
Its your everyday simple powerlifters gym........ but it is ran and owned by this man here
Joe Orengia
If my memory serves me correctly hes currently 67 years old and deadlifts 500... Certified Badass!!
Hearing this man yell at you will push you to lift some heavy heavy heavy weight. I only had the pleasure of lifting there for about 3 weeks, but it was awesome. Great strong people.

Penn State University - Rec Hall
rec-hall-gym1.jpg
PSU Rec Hall Gym. This was rebuilt and refinished during my time at PSU and the aftermath was the best place I've ever worked out. Not only were all of the weights and equipment brand new and state of the art, but they were organized in such a way that it was easy to move from area to area. On top of all this, the cardio machines were in a loft area upstairs that looked out a giant glass wall out onto campus. Going here in the morning and workiing out while watching the sunrise through those amazing glass wall windows was the best way to start a day.

I got to do a walk through and train at the new Oregon Ducks football facility.
http://cdn-jpg.si.com/sites/default/...?itok=bNo9PcOB
The facility itself is incredible. The weight room is awesome, but it wasn't anything you wouldn't see at a college football gym... But my god the rest of the facility and what it has is incredible.Fantasy Football Team (1ppr) - http://i.imgur.com/o4i4xs3.png

When I went to ASU (Arizona State) the student gym was a dump (which was very surprising because it was the biggest or top 5 biggest schools in the country at the time). Being a Kinesiology major, we got to walk through the football athletic facility..... The gym had everything and then some... Everything top of the line brand new, but the rest of the facility had such hi-tech equipment (I assume for gauging oxygen usage, bf%, rehabbing injuries, Gravity free cardio whatever it's called where you put no stress on anything) all sorts of amazing things.... I wish I played football even as a bench warmer to get access to facilities like these lol

The best gym I trained at is Sunrise 24 Hour Fitness Super-Sport Club in Sunrise, FL. It is huge with all new equipment and a large variety. It also includes towel service and it also has a basketball and racquet ball courts.

I will have to go with my schools campus rec
However, I do not workout in the big space that you see but rather in a smaller room called "The Lab". It is where all the exercise science research gets conducted and where the powerlifting team gathers. It's a very small space that has 4power racks, 1bench, 1cable machine, and 2broken deadlift platforms. The atmosphere that it provides me is one that has been unmatched thus far. Every time people lift in there they are giving it their all, whereas in the regular campus rec floor people are always half assing it.

My favorite gym that I've ever trained at was the Gold's Gym in Las Vegas. I was out there for a long weekend and took the bus from my hotel to use the gym in the morning. And from the second that I walked in, I knew that this gym was the best that I had ever stepped foot in. They seemed to have every single piece of equipment that you could imagine and the atmosphere was out of this world. There was no way you could walk in there and not have a great workout as all of the pieces of the puzzle were right there. And sure enough, one of the most intense workouts that I've ever had! I had to force myself to leave because I felt like I could have kept on going for hours on end.

Well, I don't have any pics but;
In 2010, just outside of the downtown metropolis of Columbus, I had a couple of sessions at a MetroFitness, the same time as the little show, the Arnold was there.
Another was a Gold's Gym that was tucked away off the main drag in Myrtle Beach. Talk about old school. Iron plates, chipped and rusty. Old school dumbells. Plate loaded machines that looked anchient history but were tuff as nails to use. Load hardcore music blasting and even a couple of puke buckets scattered about. Heaven.I'm back.......kinda.....sort of....

Back in the late 2000's, I lived down in the Cincinnati, OH area and there was a brand new, 2-story Gold's Gym that opened up. This gym had absolutely everything you could think of……TONS of free weights, top of the line machines from Hammer Strength, tennis & racquetball courts, a swimming pool, basketball courts, an indoor track, rooms for classes like spinning……anything you could think of. I haven't been back down to that area in years, but I think it's an LA Fitness gym now. But for that time that I did spend down there, I couldn't have imagined a better gym to train at each day. It makes me miss those good old days as my current gym isn't anywhere near as nice.

Best gym I ever trained at was Powerhouse Gym.
Has since closed and been renamed, but that was as hardcore a gym as you will ever find.
No fluff, just strong ass MoFo's killing it day after day. Pretty popular amongst wrestlers as well as every time WWF/WWE would roll into Toronto, you would see a bunch of them training at Powerhouse.
That was a place where hardly any conversations happened on the gym floor, all talking was done in the change room. The gym floor was for training. Damn I miss that place.Blood......Sweat........RESPECT!!!!!

For me, Easily - Golds Gym (North) in Regina S.K. Canada.
The entrance hallway is about 80 feet long, lined with murals that get you pumped up right as you take an epic stroll towards an absolutely gorgeous gym. All the equipment you could want, people working hard. Hell they even had a theater playing movies with about 15 pieces of cardio equipment in there.... (Did not use ) First chance to try hammer strength equipment and train alongside some real bodybuilders. I won't soon be forgetting those glorious three months I spent there.
Doesn't even have a picture of the leg equipment room!! Leg presses, V squat, lying leg curl, calf raise machines, squat racks oooh I miss that room.
