PlanetSide 2 heading to PS4 by years end



Sony PlayStation fans have been eagerly waiting to get their hands on SOE’s PlanetSide2. Originally launched for the PC in late 2012, PlanetSide2 brings global PvP warfare to a whole new level. The game, which was slated for a PlayStation release in early 2014, was pushed back due to a longer than expected porting cycle.

Fans of the franchise won’t have to wait much longer though. PS4 owners will have their hands gripping their controller by the year’s end. Playing the game on your PS4 will be equivalent to playing on Ultra High settings on the PC.


The game will remain completely free to play, you will not need a PlayStation Plus subscription to access PlanetSide 2. Sony states the game will unfortunately not be cross platform. PC and PS3 users will play on separate servers. This is due in part to the games being on different update time frames. SOE states that although a merge in the future might be possible, it’s not likely.

New content is also planned for the PC version. There will be a new four man aircraft called “the Valkyrie” with a dedicated seat for a gunner position. To encourage more people to join additional content is planned in the form of what is being called “battle islands” smaller engagements focused on objectives other than capturing locations. Little information is known on this at the moment, but we will be sure to update as new things come to light.

Themes coming to PS4 with Update 2.0



Something PS4 owners have been clamoring for since the system’s launch last November are customization options including themes to make your XMB more personal. Well at Gamescom Sony announced System Software Update 2.0 which would bring SharePlay among other features to the platform.

As for the other features, it looks like one of those will be themes. The PlayStation Blog crew was discussing the update on the latest episode of the PlayStation Blogcast and 1 hour and 16 minutes into the episode, they announced that themes would be making their way to the PS4 in this update.

They didn’t share if this would mean dynamic themes or static themes, but themes in general will offer a nice break from the static blue background of the PS4′s XMB.

Assassin’s Creed: Rogue ( Fuuuuuuuu, lol )

Ubisoft Thinks It’s Too Early For Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Current Gen Port



Ubisoft has recently stated that it believes it’s too early to start discussing PS4 and Xbox One ports of Assassin’s Creed: Rogue.

Recently Ubisoft has said that they believe releasing Assassin’s Creed: Unity and Rogue back-to-back is fine, but when asked about a possible current gen port for Rogue in the future their thoughts were quite different. While being interviewed by OXM on the subject, Ubisoft Sofia’s Ivan Balabanov had the following to say:


“It’s too early to discuss this subject. Right now Unity is our game for new generation consoles.

“The [Unity] technology’s built from the ground up with a lot of reinventions of the systems behind it – essentially it’s a game that takes full advantage of the hardware, and what we wanted to do in our case is make a game for players who still haven’t made the transition.”


While the statement seems neutral on whether or not Assassin’s Creed: Rogue will eventually be ported, the idea behind the dual game releases for last and current generation gamers seems more sure than ever. Regardless of the eventual decision from Ubisoft, gamers won’t have to wait too long for the next installments in the series — regardless of the system they’re playing on — as Assassin’s Creed: Unity will be released on October 28th for Xbox One and PS4, which will be followed by Assassin’s Creed: Rogue on November 11th for Xbox 360 and PS3.
