based on what ive seen of the quality of the titan rack (to this point) id have trouble spending $400 on it. id go with the tuff stuff. its at least as good or better than the body solid and its $200 cheaper.

If you need something now I'd probably go with the GPR378.

Edit: Actually, that Tuff Stuff looks nicer than I originally thought. Can anyone identify it?
    Edit 2: Looks like it's http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...#post541744303. I'd probably go GPR378.

The Titan HD has potential but Titan has some quality control issues to work out and that'll take some time.

    Easy.

    Titan is a $400 rack for $400
Body solid is a $500 rack for $500
    Both these are about equal.

The tuff stuff was prolly about $800 back in the 90's.
Get it. Plus it was made in usa

I have that Tuff Stuff it's solid. Offer lower and see if they'll bite. If not I'd wait to see if something better pops up on CL. Something ALWAYS pops up you just have to be willing to drive sometimes.

    This^^^

It's funny to me that most folks would gladly make a 3-4 hour drive to pick up a $2000 dollar TV for $400, but they won't put that same time/effort into picking up a used commercial rack for the same price. There are commercial equipment resellers all over the country with used power racks for about the same price as a new GPR378, yet people will still buy the Body Solid because they can have it shipped to their door.

that's not really short. its normal for a quality consumer level rack. many stand alone racks (ie don't need bolting down) are between 80-84 inches. unless you are pretty short you wont be doing standing presses inside any of those racks.

I can't believe anyone is considering the Titan after the pics in that thread and their ridiculous false advertising. They show pics of Rogue's uhmw-lined j-cups and then send you cheap rubber ones with non-countersunk screws that will f up your bar knurling.

still worth it at $300. there is no advantage to buying new with things like power racks unless one just need to have something look new.
