well the 2nd part is false. It's nearly impossible to go from ANG to AD. Good news for you though AD just raised the enlistment age to like 38 or something. I think Guard is a great way to go imo. a lot of the guys in here are trying to palace chase from AD into the guard. Personally i'd love to leave the ANG and go AD (personal reasons)but i've tried to no avail. Good luck man

Hey guys, I have a question about bulking and feel safe in this forum compared to the brutal misc and others lol. Like I said in my first post I'm new to lifting, 4/5 months in. I haven't paid any attention to diet and have so far maintained my weight while still making good linear progress in my lifts. But, I realize at some point I'll have to put on mass to keep getting stronger. I'm planning to start stronglifts 5x5 in a couple weeks when my schedule at work gets stable and I am also planning to start meal planning to put on some weight. What's a good goal for gaining (lbs/week)? I've heard .5/week for women, but just curious what you guys think. I'm 5'6" / 120, so have plenty of room to grow.

I'm planning on hitting the bod pod at the hawc next week to get an accurate estimate of my bmr/tdee, but trying to figure out what my goal for a calorie surplus should be based on what's a good goal for monthly gain.

I'm a typical woman that doesn't want to get fat, so I'm planning to try and gain slow over time while still being able to progress with my strength goals.

Tl;dr: how much weight is realistic to gain/month if I want to bulk without being a tubby?

-Two mass gaining protein shakes with whole milk per day.
-creatine monohydrate
-take advantage of free eggs in the dfac hhhhnnnnnggggggg
-grill a whole damn chicken coop when you're meal prepping, im talking 3 breasts a day MINIMUM.
-whole milk
-lmao @ no peanut butter, ur goofing hard if you don't eat PB.
-absolutely no cardio
-lift heavy as fukc, make sure you slam weights after every set.

I've never seen a senior NCO take a PT test. Ever.
And judging my some of their performances in morning PT, there is no way in hell they could pass one.

I haven't been on meal card in too many years to count. I'm on that BAS time.

And I try peanut butter about once a year just to make sure. Had some today. Hate it.

Old, and a chick... can get a 90+ with a 14 minute run time. But I start running a couple weeks out also.

I've never seen a senior NCO take a PT test. Ever.
And judging my some of their performances in morning PT, there is no way in hell they could pass one.

I know several SNCOs who just need to get their waist measured for the PT test, and some can barely pass that.

Last week we had the new wing commander PT with our squadron and it was embarrassing. He claims to have maxed his test for over 20 years straight (pencil whipped or not he's pretty fit), so yeah you can imagine how the session went. lol

If it makes you feel any better i met my recruiter 4 times. Initial meeting, paperwork, meps, basic. this was over a 11 month time frame too.

Any brahs have experience or know people who've been diagnosed with sleep apnea? I've thought I might have it for years, and my girl says my snoring/waking up is getting worse. Kind of want to get it checked out, but I've read alot of people getting Med DQ'ed if they get diagnosed with it.

2 of my guys went to our doc and about it, got sent to civilian specialists for sleep studies, were diagnosed, and were out of the AF within 6 months. One was medically retired, I think he had 7 years in at that point. The other was a straight up medical separation at 3 years.
