I have talked to many failed EOD at tech school because they switch over to my field. They were all very in shape, and all failed due to something other than being in shape/PT. If you're pretty smart and can use your head, while being motivated to be in shape, you could be fine. This is for EOD anyways, I'm not sure how TACP is. Be motivated enough, give it your all, and you can get through it.

I only mentioned the TACP guys failing out. I'm pretty sure every single guy who went through eod made it. Crazy cause there was like 10 guys. Couple of those guys were barely passing PAST standards at the end of basic....Like everything if you've got the right mentality you'll go much further than just being a pt stud.

I HAVE THE POWER!!!
Literally. I'm sitting in the power plant and with the flip of a switch, I can kill everything on base. Buuuuut, I'm more like Homer Simpson sleeping with my feet up on the console letting it do it's thing."Milk is for babies. When you grow up you have to drink beer." - Arnold

Just about everything in the Air Force can translate into a decent civilian job. Just depends on what you're looking for. What kind of "average" score we talking? 50-60? You can go on about.com and look through the AFSCs. The site has info on what score you need to get each job. It's not 100% accurate, but it's close.

5 AF guys who are in special operations but living here in my city, they train together almost every day. Outside of that i don't know. Regardless, i've taken training in to my own hands and i'm improving every week which is nice. Just hit a 12 minute 1.5 mile run and i'm already at PAST standards for pushup/pullup. Running is my weak point. Hoping to get to 10 minute 1.5 mile or under by BMT, then try to continue to improve while there. Apparently if you are going in to special ops you can get almost a whole flight of special ops candidates. Which would be great because AF BMT is a joke, so nice to have other guys who are equally motivated to work harder than everyone else.

Unaware. You on that 1A or 11xx tiem now?
Probably a bunch of security security forces LOL. Yeah 12 minutes 1.5 mile is terrible for an operator. Probably needs consistent 8:xx to make it through the pipeline. Yes if you go battlefield amn you'll be in a flight with prob. at least half other battlefield amn. Also lol at saying BMT is a joke but you've never been.

I doubt they are security, my recruiter has been a solid guy this whole time, as well as pushing my waiver through. I see no reason he'd lie about this when it's obvious i would find out. I've already acknowledged that i need a better time than PAST. PAST is supposed to be your time on your worst day. I'm hoping to hit 9 minute 1.5 mile by the time i hit the schoolhouse.
And ya, sorry bro but AF BMT is a joke. If you don't think so you're either lying or delusional.
Being able to bring your cell and most MTIs letting kids use it once a week to make calls: LOL. MTIs not being able to swear at you or face suspension: LOL. MTIs not being able to make you do pushups past a certain point: LOL. Level of mental abuse dropped to all-time lows: LOL. I could go on.Psych & handcuffs

Sounds like you shouldn't be in the Air Force. You're one of those *******s that pretends everyone has an easy job, yet you have never went through their training, a disgrace.
I was only allowed to use my cell phone twice, and it was for 5 minutes. This was is in 8 1/2 weeks. (and this last year) If you don't think BMT is going to be am awful time, well.... have fun.
edit: Oh btw, Kadena is awesome! I'm lucky to be here. Snorkeling where you can see under water and see fish, diving is cheap but haven't done it yet, zip lining/obstacle course was amazing, new culture, fantastic food, 5 story mall, cheap cars, and for the most part we're liked by the citizens of Okinawa.Last edited by PokerBrah; 05-19-2015 at 05:37 AM.

IDK. She doesn't want to deal with relocating our pets. I'll still put it on my dream sheet if it comes up. Just won't tell her. Buuut, she kinda knows how that works. IDC though. I'd still do it. I love snorkeling, diving, swimming, and fishing. Would be totally worth it.

**** feel like **** brahs. Apparently my FCC on this trip felt left out from the aircrew when our AC asked him if he was good to be left at the jet(jet was hard broke and no expectation of it being fixed/diagnosed soon). Another FCC I'm good friends with pulled me aside and told me. If a new FCC is a little weirded out by talking to the AC I'm cool with that, but he should be comfortable talking to the senior load on the crew. Will be pulling them both aside and debriefing them on such. FCC's might "not be aircrew" but they are still enlisted brahs
And this FCC lifts, so if you happen to see this, expect a debrief from me.

ik technically im not in the air force yet so i get if this is the wrong place to post this but i've been on temp dq for astigmatism for like 5 months almost. I spoke to a specialist recently and he agreed with the meps drs that i can get in with a medical waiver. I have 2 questions, 1. does this mean im in? Or can they still say no. and 2. if i get in what job do u recommend? I got an 82 on the asvab and scored high enough on each section where i can get virtually any job that im not dq for vision. I was thinking of going IT desk for jobs on the civilian side like 3d0x2. What are your thoughts on this?

When you are told to get in crew rest it's not really an option. MX leadership made the rules that fcuk over your own FCC's. All aircrew can do is tell the pro sup to fuq off when they try to pull him for servicing. Nothing to really do at a base with no c17 support.
Greenflag was a joke. Brb all our load plans were basically planned for a c130. Brb loading 2 HMMWV. Ever seen the inside of a c17? Hot dog down a hall way. Give us a tank and 4 HMMWV's and now we are talking. It could be great training, we just need to work the c17 side of things better. I know the 130's got some good **** in though
