Thoughts on Kadena vs Ramstein? Theres a good chance I could trade, but which one is better and why?

Btw, my recruiter never tried pressing an open contract on me, maybe because she had plenty others willing to do that, so I was able to wait dor what I wanted. 10 months dep worth it.

Haven't been to Kadena, but I'm currently at Ramstein. I haven't met anyone that didn't like either of them so this may be a tough choice.

I'd say that Ramstein definitely has more travel opportunities. Within 8 hours drive you could go just about anywhere in Europe. Paris, Normandy, London, Swizterland, Italy, Austria, Amsterdam, Belgium, Denmark, Luxembourg. It's cloudy, often... so if you're a huge fan of the sun you won't like that. I'd say the weather is probably what I hear being the most bitched about around here. Ramstein is crowded, there are typically lines for everything and I think that is the most annoying for me personally. You're going to be intel so there are likely 3 choices of units here for you and depending on how well you do and if you extend your tour a 4th and 5th choice down the road may open up.

got into an accident last night. me and the wife were sitting at a red light and got rear ended by a car going 45mph. back sprain and whiplash... pisses me off. i have had 3 documented back sprains from lifting or w.e and this is #4... all my progress in the gym is about to be halted for atleast a week. thank god everyones ok though but poor wifes new car. shes pissed, still had the plastic on the floor to keep it "new". no contact with the party at fault yet so she cant get a rental. i drive stick and she cant// cant really turn my head at all... stupid

Most Air Force bases don't even have gyms, because we aren't required to PT. It's why I prefer marine post. They have gyms where you can flip rocks, practice CQ form, and drag your knuckles.

I'm stationed on an Army base and didn't set foot in the gym for the first year because I was afraid I'd have to wear Army pt gear and a reflective belt. Luckily they have a portion of the base specially for us airmen with a yoga studio and those cute pink dumbbells... I feel safe there.
