I always love the "but what was defense?" everytime Love comes up.
Love is actually not bad in team defense. 1 V 1 in Iso, he's terrible but in team defense he does OK and lets not forget rebounding is defense as well.
How many players on the Spurs are actually good individual defenders?
Plus, when you have Verejoa and Lebron opposed to Pekovic and Brewer it makes a lot of difference.Vikings--Wolves-Gophers

I think Love may be a bit more motivated to play Defense being on the Cavs with LeBron instead of the Wolves where he was just playing for himself and not the playoffs, could just be wishful thinking. People acting like Wiggins had them as the best Defense in the league and now trading him for Love made the Cavs the worst.

Pros:
#1-Great shoot for his position.
#2-Great rebounder.
#3- Big time hustling type, plays hard.
#4- Will force opposing PFs to follow him out of the lane, opening it up for LeBron or Kyrie.
#5- If penetration from Kyrie or LeBron is stopped, they dish it out to Love.
#6- Under rated passer, very good overall but has excellent transition passes (from one end of the court to the other)
#7- tough, willing to play hurt and doesn't mind mixing it up.
#8- Very smart player
#9- Always around the basket, gets a lot of tip ins.
#10- Still only 25, so he has several prime years left.
Cons-
#1- Not very good in isolation defense.
#2- Sometimes can be a real complaining beotch if things aren't going right.
#3- While not as bad as some make it sound, he's not a great post up player, but he has been progressing.
#4- Not a great athlete but much better than he was when he came into the league.
#5- Not fast enough to be good in transition.Vikings--Wolves-Gophers

I think his defense suffered because he was just so fed up with the Wolves that he stopped caring toward the end. He's never going to be a great defender, he's not athletic enough or long enough but he can be passable. I think LeBron will make sure he is at least giving it his best effort.

Lol @ this guy citing Vegas odds as some measure of how good the Cavs are. People are riding the hype train and will place their bets while the odds are the most advantageous for the bookies. You really think they're better than the Spurs? Be honest with yourself.

It's a good move for them. Before those two can contribute (if they ever would) to a championship team LeBron would probably start declining. Plus they get Love who just entered his prime and has several prime years left. So for one POTENTIAL star, one player who looks like a bust at this point, and a future protected pick they get the best PF in the game at the beginning of his prime years. Might end up that the Wolves end up with two busts and a crap draft pick and the Cavs get two championships.

Wow so now you have a ball hogging point guard that plays like a sg dude sucks at being a distributor and a no defense volume shooter...although i'll admit i love watching love play offense but lets be real love needs the ball in his hands to be effective and we all know theres only one person thats gonna demand the ball everytime its gonna suck watching loves talent fizzle out
