    Cutting without lifting?

Since now i got back injury and i can't lift weight so i decide to cut while doing other exercise.
1)Will i lose muscle from this? Or should i just eat at the maintenance until i recover?

2)I get pain in the left scapula right after i did db shoulder press. i get pain when i turn my head left. can u guys tell how is my form wrong and how to recover fast?

    thanks

    - consult with your doctor
    - we can't tell you how/if your form is wrong without seeing you perform the exercise

How long you off the weights? If it were me I would eat at maintenance. Unless I had heaps of weight to lose or what not. Good luck on the recovery.

I wouldn't eat in a deficit while injured. You need the calories, protein, and other nutrients to help aid your recovery

    THIS!
Plus if you aren't working out your muscles you do run the risk of still losing muscle mass.

Describe your pain more. Saying it hurts here really doesn't help much.
    Any pain with the exercise?
Did you only have pain after?
How long has it been since the pain started?
    How bad is the pain?

What it sounds like is that this happened today and it's sore. Give it a day or two before you freak out and call it an injury. It's normal to strain muscles or pull something the wrong way here and there. We all make mistakes with form, weight, and sometimes random mishaps happen.

Use heat if it makes you feel better and just rest for a day or two and see if it gets better. I'd only avoid other exercises if they cause pain. But if you can continue with other exercises without a problem I wouldn't stop doing those.

Getting BACK pain from a shoulder press could be that you are arching your back too much when doing the press. Try using an upright bench with a full back on it and make sure your back is flat against that. If you are arching your back then it means you are using a weight way too heavy for your current strength level. Don't lean back too far when doing a shoulder press.
The pain when turning the neck is probably the traps.

If the pain isn't really bad and this is a new injury, just treat with heat and give it a few days. Probably a strain from either using too much weight or not warming up enough.
I like personal responsibility and accountability. When you admit you are the problem you are simultaneously admitting you are the solution.

I had ulnar nerve transposition surgery about 1.5 months ago. I am 5'8" and 240lbs and lots of muscle with fat on top. I used to lift heavily 3-5 days a week before surgery. I am currently cutting while unable to lift upper body.

I've lost maybe 10 lbs. since I started cutting 1.5 months ago.

Imo, i need to lose a lot of fat rather than worry about my muscle mass... but that's me. I'll worry about it when I'm near my ideal weight of 200ish.
