AAA guy? He was putting up respectable 750+ OPS seasons in Pittsburgh with a flawed swing. Furthermore, if you look at his minor league numbers, you'd see that the power was always there (14 HR, 26 2B at age 21 in 129 games...23 HR, 27 2B at age 24 in 117 games).

The types of HRs he hits are the biggest sign. He's only hit like 1-2 opposite field HRs during this stretch where he became one of the best power hitters in the game. The big juicing HR hitters were notorious for missing balls and still sending them out to every single part of the field. This is just going to tarnish the game even more. And the Hall will have less and less members. It's not good for anyone at this point, the players, the fans, etc. We are all suffering from stories like this. I just wish the players were smarter about things. But I guess $ truly is the root of all evil and that's why guys do it. To put up the numbers to get the big numbers.

This^^^ Without getting into too much detail that would lead to me getting banned, but there is a reason why they don't go the gym and find some random guy or have someone find some guy...... However what I don't understand is why they didn't have someone go get it for them? I guess the owner of Biogenisis probably had some "rule" that if you wanted his stuff, and told how to use it properly, that you had to go with him directly or whoever got it for you had to tell him who its for, as a form of protection for when he inevitably got caught. Releasing the names has obviously gotten him a lighter sentence.... I assume any of the guys who signed one of those mega contracts and then had their numbers plummet were once PED users, but are now set for life, and have there job set in stone for x amount of years. I have to imagine the NFL has somewhat of "Don't ask Don't tell" policy, because it seems like the people who get suspended are for rec. drugs, or like in Robert Mathis' case he got caught using clomid, which is "technically" on their banned substance list, but football players contracts are really the shortest, least guaranteed, and you can be replaced in heart beat, so I assume it's fairly prevalent in the NFL, the NBA maybe a handful, but out of the 3 sports I listed probably the least by a wide margin....

MLB needs to take a lesson from the NFL and NBA, don't ask don't tell. Nobody wins when you drag your star players' names through the mud, not to mention the game is more exciting when everyone is juiced to the gills.

And? Steroid guys gain the strength to muscle balls to every part of the park. They miss balls and still carry them over fences. The was the trademark display you'd see from guys like Sosa and McGuire. When Bautista does hit the ball in the air the other way, it doesn't carry out of the park, period. He doesn't hit balls that look like fly-outs that mysteriously keep carrying. Go look at ****ing Bret Boone who at ~5'10 200 pounds was sending balls to dead center and opposite field with ease in Seattle's giant pitcher's park during his roid peak.

Just because he's a "pull hitter", doesn't mean that it magically explains why none of the balls he hits to right-center, or right-field leave the park.

Wow, such logic. Mike Trout couldn't hit more than 11 in the minors and now he's a perennial 30+ HR hitter blasting 489 foot shots...is he on steroids too?

The point ass-hat is that a player with the TOOL to do something can achieve it with the right mechanical adjustment. Bautista was a Top 10 prospect for Pitssburgh in the minors. He not only possessed, but he outright displayed power in the minors. Mechanical failure in his swing threw off his timing and allowed pitchers to overwhelm him inside.

It happens. Cliff Lee went from a ~4 ERA pitcher to one of the most dominant LHP in the game.

Sure, but as far as I can tell there is no magical PED that "increases batspeed" yet doesn't also significantly increase strength. Bautista looks nothing like the PED HR kings of the ~2000's. Not physically, and not how he hits his HR's.

The point is that if he was on roids you would undoubtedly see him hit balls out the other way, period. Its not like every ball he hits is pulled. He hits balls to other parts of the field, and guess what? They stay in the stadium.

That "chart" only lists actual hits.

How about you take a look at one that shows OUTS as well? How about this one...notice all of the balls hit the other way which didn't get out of the park, and were recorded as OUTS? No one is arguing that he isn't a pull hitter you tard; that doesn't magically explain why literally all of his power is to the pull-side when the telltale sign of PED power hitters has ALWAYS been elite power to every single part of the stadium. Even midgets like Boone who were smaller than Bautista could muscle balls out the other way, which Bautista simply does not do.

lol this spray chart further proves my point. do you not notice that the left side of the infield is BLACKED OUT? the whole left side of the field has way more balls hit that way. once again, please strongly correlate opp field power to steroid use.

Are you brain-dead? The argument isn't whether or not he is a pull hitter (which he absolutely IS).

The argument is to why his fly-balls that aren't pulled mysteriously stay in the park. Why isn't his supposed PED roid strength carrying these balls over the fence? Why can he only hit a HR when he pulls the ball? Every single PED masher has been able to muscle balls out to every part of the field (see: Ryan Braun), regardless of whether they were "pull hitters" or not. Why can't Bautista?

The point ass-hat is that a player with the TOOL to do something can achieve it with the right mechanical adjustment. Bautista was a Top 10 prospect for Pitssburgh in the minors. He not only possessed, but he outright displayed power in the minors. Mechanical failure in his swing threw off his timing and allowed pitchers to overwhelm him inside.

It happens. Cliff Lee went from a ~4 ERA pitcher to one of the most dominant LHP in the game.
This might be the worst argument in the history of the sports misc. Trout hit 30 HR in the majors when he was 20/21 years old, after hitting 16 the year before b/w AAA and MLB as a 19/20 year old. Bautista went from hitting 15 to 50 at age 29 after 6 years in the bigs. LMAO.

He's only hit 50 HRs once you tards, and it came in a year where pitchers had no idea how to pitch to him and thus had no adjustments. In reality he went from a 15 HR hitter who wasn't even playing every day to a ~30 HR hitter playing full-time...stop trying to dramatize the effects LMFAO ("15 to 50"). Complete mechanical overhaul + the switch to the Rogers Centre (one of the Top 3-5 consistent HR-friendly stadiums in the league) is an easy as **** explanation you jelly *******s.

strong making up stats. he in fact went from 13 to 54. and then hit 43 in 50 less abs. 27 in 200+ less abs. 28 in 100+ less abs. and 22 this year. in every single one of those years he would have hit 35+ if not for injuries. just lol at your excuses

Nice choice of stats yourself. He hit 16 in 400 at-bats in 2006 playing for Pittsburgh in a stadium that consistently grades in the bottom-third for HR-factor league wide. That season scaled up to 500 at-bats would have put him at 20+ HRs. So really; he went from a guy who had the ability to hit 20+ with a flawed swing in a huge stadium to a guy who was hitting 35+ when healthy playing in a launching-pad stadium. Like I said, its just a tiny bit less dramatic than "15 to 50".
